Chapter 1026: Pyramid Scheme

While Natasha remained shocked and stood in place, Xu Feng didn’t bother to retaliate. It wasn’t out of courtesy, but there was no longer any need for him to continue.

Since the fight was set for 3 minutes, Natasha spent most of her time multicasting.

She was oblivious that his first two sneak attacks were meant as a provocation to distract her from checking the time.

After all, he pointed out the timer in the sky to remind Natasha and made her take a glance. And when a person had just checked the time. It would be weird for them to check it again when they were concentrating on something else.

Moreover, Natasha was heated in terms of emotion and only wished to decimate him in one go.

Everything was under his calculation and played out exactly like he intended for.

’Phew, she’s still too green at this moment.’ Xu Feng heaved a sigh of relief and was very glad that Natasha had yet to become someone whom he had interacted with in the past timeline.

In the past timeline, she sure was bossy and very arrogant. But it was still concealed and suppressed deeply as she knew how to regulate her emotions.

It was a complete pain for anyone who got into her bad book.

How did Xu Feng know and remember so vividly?

Well, the answer was rather simple.

He was one of those who got into her bad book because he didn’t want the Reaver Guild to fall into the Illuminati’s scheme.

Too bad that the heir was a complete retard and blindsided by greed and success.

In the end, Xu Feng lost miserably and ended up being kicked out of the Reaver Guild.

"You’ve lost the fight." Xu Feng put away his weapon and said calmly.

"What?" Startled, Natasha snapped out of her daze.

"You only manage to block off one of my moves. I still have many cards that I can play to kill you." She argued and nearly wanted to laugh aloud. She had barely just started her offense and he already wanted to call it the end?

How hilarious was that?

Alas, reality soon struck her hard when the system announced the end of the fight.

Victor: Nathan

"Eh?" Dazed, Natasha stood in place despite being transported out of the arena stage.

"Miss Natasha?" Kailey walked forward and waved her hand in front of Natasha a few times.

"This fight was modified to end in 3 minutes and not the typical fight that prolongs." She explained, seemingly understanding Natasha’s current thought process.

To be honest, even she was shocked by the psychological element deployed by Xu Feng, followed by the stalling to allow Natasha to multicast and completely lose track of time. As her eyes subtly trailed toward Xu Feng who held a calm composure, her desire to recruit him intensified.

’He’s a healer like the Guild Leader, and his barrier was focused on a fixed point to defend from the stacked spells. This is something unseen in the Divine World.’ Kailey was positive that the fight recorded from the arena stage could be used as a great reference.

However, she also knew that not everyone would be able to replicate his feat in the snap of a finger.

"Anyway, where’s the training that supposedly helps increase one’s combat experience?" Xu Feng raised the question.

"I sure want to improve a bit to avoid being accidentally killed outside." He continued and gave Natasha a meaningful stare.

By now, Natasha had already come to accept that the fight was lost because of her emotions going amok. She had just managed to calm down when Xu Feng once again attempted to provoke her with that meaningful stare.

"What do you take me for?" Natasha rolled her eyes and snorted. "This lady here has too many important things on her plate to do something like camp outside to ambush you."

Despite saying so, Natasha truly intended to do such a thing. But if she were to proceed while the other party already subtly implied it, then wouldn’t that be playing into his hands.

"Sure, I’ll believe you for now. Maybe I was just overthinking and thought you were one of those insidious, petty, and wicked bitch who would retaliate at every chance they get." Xu Feng smiled and chuckled softly.

Natasha’s expression was still, but her mind was starting to curse him in a thousand different ways.

Now she definitely can’t retaliate unless she wants to be called those words.

Not to mention, Kailey of the Vanguard Guild was present here. Once the Vanguard Guild learned about her movement against them, what kind of dirty tricks would they not resort to?

Sometime later, Kailey guided the two of them to the inner section.

"Before we enter, I must warn you that some of our guild members are undergoing training. Please do your best to not disturb or ask them any questions." Kailey warned softly.

"Oh, is the Vanguard Guild planning on gatekeeping some critical training method?" Natasha asked jokingly. It appeared to be a joke at a glance, but she was secretly trying to pry for information.

"We’re not trying to gatekeep anything." Kailey shook her head and smiled.

"It’s just that we take no responsibility as to what will happen if you interrupt their training. The section we’re heading to is strictly regulated and disallows any fighting."

"Is that so?" Hearing that simply made Natasha more curious as to what kind of secret was behind the large door.

While she remained curious, Kailey promptly opened the door and was instantly greeted with an authoritative tone toward a group of people.

"Start over again. I can’t believe a bunch of you got selected." Brutus’ voice was thunderous and filled with anger when glancing at the group of people standing in the front. Each person was wearing a Vanguard Guild emblem, and their facial expression was mixed with frustration and embarrassment.

’Did I enter some secretive military training drill instead?’ Dumbfounded, Natasha was wondering if she had fallen into some pyramid scheme.
