Four guards clad in suits of azure armor were standing at the entrance, and they extended a collective respectful bow at the sight of Liu Le'er.

The four guards were all at the mid or late-Golden Immortal Stage, yet they were still treating Liu Le'er with a high degree of respect, and that told him that Liu Le'er possessed quite a lofty status in the Heavenly Fox Tribe.

Liu Le'er paid no heed to the four guards as she eagerly rushed toward the entrance, displaying remnants of the energetic little girl she had been during her time with Han Li in the Spirit Domain Realm.

Han Li was just about to follow along when the four guards extended their weapons to block his path.

"Stay back!"

Han Li's brows furrowed slightly as he stopped in his tracks.

The guard with the highest cultivation base of the four cupped his fist in a salute toward Liu Le'er as he explained, "Forgive us, Young Mistress Le'er, but this fellow daoist is not a Heavenly Fox being, so if he wants to enter our settlement, then he'll have to secure permission from Elder Mu."

"I'll explain this matter to Elder Mu, so all of you can stand down," Liu Le'er said in a cold voice.

The guard was silent for a moment, but didn't relent.

"Please don't make our job more difficult than necessary, Young Mistress Le'er."

"How dare you!" Liu Le'er snapped in a furious voice as she made a grabbing motion to release a burst of gray light, which swept up the weapons of the guards to hurl them aside.

Han Li's eyes lit up slightly upon hearing this.

It seemed that Liu Le'er was wearing some type of treasure that concealed her cultivation base, and only in the wake of this display of power from her was Han Li able to detect that she had also reached the High Zenith Stage.

Even though it was only the early-High Zenith Stage, it was still worlds apart from her cultivation base back in the Spirit Domain Realm.

The four guards immediately tightened their grips around their weapons to prevent them from being torn away.

Even though they were only at the Golden Immortal Stage, they seemed to be adept in some type of collaborative secret technique that allowed them to combine their powers to withstand Liu Le'er's grab, but blood was trickling down from the corners of their lips, and it was clear that they had not withstood the attack without physical strain.

Liu Le'er had only recently reached the High Zenith Stage, so she was still yet to fully consolidate her cultivation base. Right as she was about to unleash an even more powerful attack, an authoritative voice suddenly rang out.

"Stand down, all of you!"

At the same time, a burst of tremendous force appeared between Liu Le'er and the four guards to forcibly separate them.

A gray-robed man with a head of white hair then appeared out of thin air, and a hint of apprehension surfaced in Han Li's eyes as he channeled his Lightning Bird bloodline to conceal his own status as a human.

Despite the elderly man's rather unremarkable appearance, he was a Great Encompassment cultivator.

"Elder Mu!"

The four guards hurriedly sheathed their weapons before extending respectful bows toward the gray-robed elderly man, and Liu Le'er also extended a respectful curtsey.

"Right now, all of the most powerful primordial tribes are gathered on Eight Plains Mountain, what are you doing causing a conflict at the entrance of our settlement at a time like this?" the elderly man scolded.

"My sincerest apologies, Elder Mu, it's just that Young Mistress Le'er was trying to bring this stranger into our settlement, which is against the rules, so we stepped in to stop her," the leader of the guards immediately replied.

"He's my brother, and he's saved my life in the past, so he's not just some stranger," Liu Le'er immediately protested.

The gray-robed elderly man took a glance at Han Li, and a hint of barely detectable derision flashed through his eyes as he said, "Alright, that's enough from all of you. Le'er, you can come in with your brother."

Han Li's brows furrowed slightly at the sight of the elderly man's expression, but he didn't say anything as he entered the settlement with Liu Le'er.

Before long, the three of them had arrived in an opulent hall.

The tables and chairs inside were all crafted from previous materials, and it seemed that this was some type of guest hall.

"The blood inheritance ceremony is about to begin, so every single second is of huge importance to you! How could you go out unannounced at a time like this? The chief is already very unhappy with you, so hurry up and go back to the Heavenly Fox Palace!" the gray-robed elderly man scolded with a stern expression as soon as he entered the hall.

Liu Le'er lowered her head slightly as she replied, "I know what I did was wrong, but I would like to request a day of rest to spend with my brother. I'll be sure to work extra hard on my cultivation tomorrow to make up for today."

"That's absolutely unacceptable! The future of our Heavenly Fox Tribe hinges on the outcome of this blood inheritance ceremony, so it must be treated with the utmost care! Go back to the Heavenly Fox Palace right now, I'll attend to this brother of yours in your stead," the elderly man said.

Liu Le'er's brows furrowed slightly as a hesitant look appeared on her face.

"It's fine, Le'er. You're clearly busy, so you don't need to accompany me any further," Han Li said with a faint smile.

"Alright, but stay here and don't go anywhere, I'll have some free time once the blood inheritance ceremony is over," Liu Le'er said, then implored Elder Mu to look after Han Li before departing, leaving only Han Li and Elder Mu left in the hall.

Han Li continued to channel his Lightning Bird bloodline as he cupped his fist in a salute, preparing to deliver a self-introduction, only for Elder Mu to turn to him with a cold sneer as he said, "I know all about you, Fellow Daoist Han, so there's no need to use those little tricks to disguise yourself. At the same time, he heaved an internal sigh. He had thought that given his ties with Liu Le'er and Fox 3, it would be easier for him to try and gather some information from the Heavenly Fox Tribe, but it was clear that he wasn't welcome here.

"For what purpose have you come to our Heavenly Fox Tribe, Fellow Daoist Han?" Elder Mu asked in a cold voice.

"Rest assured, Elder Mu, I may be a human cultivator, but I harbor no ill will toward any of the primordial tribes. I only came to visit as I happened to encounter Le'er by chance, but I'm clearly not welcome here, so I'll be taking my leave now," Han Li said as he rose to his feet, then turned to depart.

However, Elder Mu abruptly appeared in his path to intercept him.

"You think you can just come and go from this place as you please? Tell me your objectives first!" Elder Mu demanded as a gray light barrier appeared over the exit of the hall.

"What's the meaning of this? Are you trying to keep me here by force?" Han Li asked as a cold look appeared on his face as well, and a miniature lightning array appeared over the palm of his hand, which was concealed up his sleeve.

On the way to Eight Plains Mountain, he had been constantly refining his Eon Divine Lamp and studying the Almighty Sword Array, but studying something for prolonged periods of time was bound to grow tiresome, so whenever he grew weary, he would read through the Five Lightning True Mantra as a constructive form of relaxation.

The Five Lightning True Mantra contained an enormous amount of information, and Han Li was able to benefit immensely from reading through it.

In particular, he had found a lightning teleportation technique in the scripture that worked in a very similar way to his lightning teleportation array, but this lightning teleportation technique was far more advanced and profound.

After carefully studying the technique, he incorporated many of its profound elements into his own lightning teleportation array and Lightning Restraining Wood teleportation array. As a result, he was able to significantly reduce the amount of time required to activate the two arrays while also drastically increasing the achievable distance of teleportation.
