In the Sea of Cognition, Tang Jie was sealed under the mountain like he was Sun Wukong, but he didn’t seem the slightest bit out of sorts, and there was even a smug smile on his lips.

(TN: In the Chinese novel “Journey to the West”, Sun Wukong was sealed under a mountain transformed from the hand of the Buddha.)

Yu Cheng viciously glared at Tang Jie. “You dare to say that you can resolve this emperor’s crisis?”

Tang Jie sneered, “A major crisis for you is nothing more than a trifle to me, easily undone. Hey, stop wasting time. That Three Sages Ancestor has already attacked. The Three Purities Primordial Energy is just as incredible as I expected it to be. If he weren’t so far away, it would have already restrained you.”

“You know about the Three Purities Primordial Energy?”

Tang Jie said in disdain, “You could take my memories, so why can’t I take yours? It’s just that after you were reborn, our souls separated, meaning you can no longer pry into my memories. Thus, you can’t know what my solution is.”

Yu Cheng knew that he was right. Before his rebirth, he was a formless existence, not even a Divine Soul, which allowed him to merge with Tang Jie without being discovered, as well as probe his memories. His rebirth had granted him supreme strength, but lost him this convenience. The current Tang Jie was now his own entity, and they no longer shared memories.

And because they shared the same past, even that Reincarnation Art that could peer into the hearts of others was useless.

Thus, Yu Cheng could only ask, “What’s your solution?”

“It’s simple. Let me out and give me control over the body.”

“Not a chance!” Yu Cheng harshly said.

Tang Jie said, “What are you worried about? You are the current owner of this body, so you can decide everything. Even if I have temporary control over the body, once the matter is resolved, you can just take back control.”

“You think I don’t know that? If I let you control my body, I’m essentially announcing that you have some authority over it. When it comes time to obliterate you, doing so will be as hard as ascending to the heavens!”

Tang Jie chuckled. “‘As hard as ascending to the heavens’, but it’s still not ascending to the heavens, right? Compared to seeking the Heavenly Dao, what sort of challenge does this present? Moreover, you think my saving you comes for free?”

Tang Jie made no attempt to hide his desire for his body.

Yu Cheng wasn’t the sort of existence that could be deceived by ordinary schemes. Only fair trades could achieve his ends.

Yu Cheng hesitated.

“You don’t have much time to think,” Tang Jie indifferently reminded him.

In the teleportation space, the Three Purities Primordial Energy was rapidly spreading and pulverizing Yu Cheng’s defenses. If not for the power of the Xuanyuan Sword and the Infinite Palace, the Three Sages Ancestor would have already broken through.

Clenching his teeth, Yu Cheng said, “Fine, as you wish!”

The mountain vanished, and Tang Jie’s will was free.

He laughed, “Thank you very much!”

His figure rapidly expanded, instantly filling the Sea of Cognition and taking control over the entire body.

Stretching his arms, Tang Jie felt the power running through his body, and despite the immense pressure of the Three Sages Ancestor, he actually took in a deep breath of satisfaction. “So this is the power of a Gold Immortal. I understand…”

Blinking his eyes, he transferred all the information through the soul connection to the original body back in the Flame Yang Domain.

“Tang Jie, what are you just standing there for?” Yu Cheng angrily said.

“No rush,” Tang Jie replied. “We still have enough time for me to do one more thing.”

He suddenly turned his head.

Behind him were the Azure Dragon and Lithos Dragon.

This gaze instantly made the two dragons shiver, that cold and familiar look making them realize something.

The Azure Dragon was the first to catch on, shouting, “Tang Jie!”

“So long as you know,” Tang Jie chuckled, reaching out and grabbing the Azure Dragon by the throat. “A price must be paid for betrayal, as I’m sure you understand.”

“No!” the Azure Dragon cried out in terror.

Tang Jie squeezed hard, and Immortal energy surged into the Azure Dragon’s body.

The old dragon was already heavily injured, so it ended up dying on the spot.

“Tang Jie, what are you doing!?” Yu Cheng angrily shouted.

“Saving us, of course,” Tang Jie replied, as the Azure Dragon’s corpse suddenly began to erupt in light.

It was an intense light, a sign of the most extreme of energy torrents.

Yu Cheng instantly realized what Tang Jie was trying to do, shouting, “NO!”

“NO!” the Three Sages Ancestor said at the same time.

Tang Jie ignored them all, and a moment later, the Azure Dragon’s corpse exploded.

This was an Immortal corpse, freshly dead and still containing Immortal energy, so a storm of energy instantly blasted through the teleportation space, causing an unprecedented spatial quake.

At the same time, Tang Jie had focused all of his power on defense. With his Gold Immortal strength, he could actually create such a spatial quake on his own, but such a quake was so powerful that he would be essentially committing suicide if he did so.

Of course, all that mattered was that he survived. He didn’t care about the others.

A moment later, Space energy ran wild.

In a random corner of the Great Stellar Chiliocosm’s endless void, a mote of light appeared, which then bloomed into a gorgeous explosion akin to a supernova. More amazing was that this explosion traveled in a straight line. Although it existed for only a few seconds, because it was in a teleportation space, the light created by the explosion traversed the void, a brilliant line extending into infinity, like someone was trying to tear open the fabric of space itself.

In the middle of this scar across the cosmos, a person fell out: Tang Jie, though one could also say it was Yu Cheng.

He was once more alone, for both Essence Refiner and the Lithos Dragon had died, and he himself was heavily injured.

“Tang Jie, look what you’ve done! This emperor has fallen out of the teleportation space!” Tang Jie’s face twisted as Yu Cheng bellowed in fury.

His face then turned back to indifference. “It’s not like it’s our first time, so why so surprised? The simplest and most effective way to escape their pursuit is to leave the teleportation space.”

Yes, this was indeed the simplest and most effective way.

While the Three Sages Ancestor was strong, he was light years away, and it was impossible for him to ambush Yu Cheng all on his own. In truth, he was using the teleportation formation as a conduit for his power, which was why his group had waited until now to attack.

Thus, if they broke out of that space, Yu Cheng would be free of danger.

But Yu Cheng understood such a simple concept too, and he certainly didn’t need Tang Jie to help him with it. He might have escaped, but he was now stuck in the void, becoming another Immortal Ji Yao!

What sort of meaning did such an escape have?

Most importantly, when the will of the Stellar Net once more organized a hunting squad, how could he stop it, floating around in the void all by himself like this?

This was not the solution Yu Cheng wanted!

He said, “You didn’t get me out of danger, just put me into even more danger! And you even killed all my followers!”

“If they didn’t die, how would we escape?” Tang Jie snorted. “Since I dared to enter the void, I naturally have a way of leaving it.”

“Oh? How will you leave?” Yu Cheng asked, the face shifting back to him.

He could have already taken back control of the Sea of Cognition, but Tang Jie’s words had made him put it off. Thus, the body kept switching between Tang Jie and Yu Cheng like he had gone insane. Fortunately, there was no one in the void to see all this.

Tang Jie smiled. “It’s simple. We find a nearby world and gather resources to build another teleportation formation.”

Yu Cheng laughed. “Absurd! Stellar Net is vast, and the void is boundless. You think domains are that easy to find? Don’t think you can reenact your feat of finding the Verdant Cloud Domain in only two years. You only succeeded thanks to this emperor’s Fate power guiding you. Now that the Fake Sky, False Sun Immortal Art has ended, all of the Fate power I planted to guide your path has been used up, so doing it again will be as hard as ascending to the heavens!”

Yu Cheng was right. While the Great Stellar Chiliocosm was home to countless worlds, the void was even larger. Tang Jie finding the Verdant Cloud Domain in two years was partially due to luck and partially due to Fate, and this was all thanks to Yu Cheng’s pre-planning. Otherwise, he would have never ended up in the Verdant Cloud Domain, where he would encounter the Azure Dragon and the Five Elements essences.

Without all this, he could fly for a hundred years and not find a world. The void was just too big and a single world relatively tiny, a stalk of millet in an ocean. Finding a place without knowing its exact location was excruciatingly difficult, and if one missed it, one would end up having to go even farther.

This was why Immortal Ji Yao was still wandering about the void.

As for the Wish Granting Book, given the hostility of the Heavenly Dao, Fate would probably only guide Yu Cheng to his execution ground.

Tang Jie smiled. “What if I told you that I know which direction the closest world is in?”

“What?” Yu Cheng was startled.

Tang Jie casually replied, “I laid down the formation, and I broke the spatial barrier, so I naturally have the best idea of where we are.”

This reasoning was somewhat forced. Yu Cheng had never heard of anyone saying that they could know where they might end up if they jumped out of a teleportation formation midway just because they had been the one to lay down the formation.

But he didn’t expose him, simply asking, “Where? And how far?”

Tang Jie replied, “I won’t tell you the direction, but I can tell you that this domain is only one year away. Of course, that’s if you combine the Celestial Eyes with Nearby Horizon.”

If it needed one year to reach using the Celestial Eyes and Nearby Horizon, then this domain couldn’t be considered close at all, but for cultivators, a year could go by in the blink of an eye and was an acceptable amount of time. And without Tang Jie’s guidance, Yu Cheng would never be able to find it on his own.

Of course, he also knew that this meant that Tang Jie had more control over this body, and once he had his roots dug in, it would be even harder to obliterate him.

Perhaps this was exactly what Tang Jie wanted.

Alas, Yu Cheng had no choice.

Taking a deep breath, Yu Cheng said, “If that’s the case, then for this year, you have control over this body. But if we still haven’t left the void after that year, I won’t hold back.”

Saying this, Yu Cheng gave over complete control and fell into slumber.

He had just awakened, and his Divine Soul was at its nadir, which had given Tang Jie and the Three Sages Ancestor an opening. He had learned his lesson and decided to use this one year to rest and hibernate. Once he returned, Tang Jie, Three Sages, and even the Heavenly Dao would no longer be able to plot against him.

Tang Jie sighed in relief once he saw Yu Cheng entering hibernation.

He informed the original body.

Plush!

Tang Jie’s original body extracted his hand from Wang Posha’s chest.

Blood gushing out, Wang Posha collapsed to the ground.
