Beast Tamer Ascension

Book 2: Chapter 91: Advancement

Vol 2 Chapter 91: Advancement

When the Jiang Family twins woke up from their coma, Lin Jing and the others had already arrived at the Ancient Domain.

As soon as they regained consciousness, the twins felt sore all over, as if their bones were about to fall apart.

The Thunder Pine’s flying speed was too fast, and the twins’ cultivation was too low to withstand the pressure, resulting in them being overwhelmed. Knocking them out directly had actually spared them from some of the pain—after all, Senior Divine Pine wasn’t about to concern itself with the comfort of some random passengers.

“Senior, where are we?” The fact that they were still alive after waking up was already a relief for the twins.

“The Ancient Domain, Hidden Dragon City,” Lin Jing replied, gazing at the vast immortal city ahead.

“We’ve actually arrived at the Ancient Domain?” Jiang Lin was utterly astonished.

Just like how many people in Lin Jing’s past life yearned to visit the capital, cultivators from other regions were naturally curious about the central domain of the Ancient Kingdom.

“Hidden Dragon City… could it be the legendary city where the Academy is located?” Jiang Qi asked excitedly.

Countless cultivators yearned to enter the highest academy of the Ancient Kingdom—it was even more prestigious than joining a top-tier sect.

“Looks like you know quite a bit. That’s right, I’m a student of this Academy,” Lin Jing said. “For the next few years—maybe even ten or several decades—you two will be cultivating here.”

“If you do well in your cultivation, I might even arrange for you to enter the Academy as well!”

Gaining admission to Hidden Dragon Academy only required a recommendation from a Nascent Soul cultivator and passing an assessment. With Lin Jing’s current status, securing a recommendation was no trouble at all.

“We… we could enter Hidden Dragon Academy too?”

At that moment, the Jiang twins suddenly started to believe that Lin Jing might not be a bad person after all.

After all, how could someone with ties to such a sacred place as Hidden Dragon Academy possibly be a demonic cultivator?

Even though Lin Jing practiced blood-path demonic arts, raised Gu worms, and likely intended to use them as hosts for his parasites, perhaps there was some misunderstanding in all of this!

The twins exchanged a glance, feeling that their situation might not be as dire as they had initially thought.

“Here, take these.”

In the next instant, Lin Jing’s hands surged with icy energy, forming two tiny spiders, each no larger than a fingernail.

Swoosh!

Before the Jiang twins could react, the little spiders shot into their mouths and slid down their throats into their bodies.

“Ugh!”

The twins immediately clutched their throats, bending over and retching violently.

“These are the Gu worms that will soon reside inside you. They’re currently in a dormant state and won’t cause you any harm for now,” Lin Jing explained calmly.

“For now, find a place to settle down in Hidden Dragon City. Once I find suitable cultivation techniques for you, I’ll come back.”

“When that time comes, after cultivating the new techniques, you’ll be able to harness the power of the Gu worms. Your strength will undergo a complete transformation.”

Lin Jing’s expression remained composed. These two Ice Soul Lesser Gu were carefully nurtured by the Ice Soul Gu over a long period. They had the potential to ascend to the Gu King bloodline. As long as the twins used them well, they had a real chance of reaching the Nascent Soul stage in the future.

After speaking, he transformed into a streak of light and disappeared, leaving the Jiang twins drenched in cold sweat.

At this point, whether Lin Jing was a good person or not no longer mattered—now that the Gu worms were inside them, they had no choice but to obey.

Hidden Dragon Academy

Before Qing Emperor returned, Lin Jing immediately retreated to his own cave dwelling.

Returning to his alchemy site and his personal vegetable garden, both the Dragonblood Carp and Pine Leaf Mouse felt an overwhelming sense of nostalgia.

By now, the Dragonblood Carp had fully grasped the advantages of mastering a skill. If it hadn’t learned alchemy, there was no way it could have defeated the Ice Soul Gu, which was an entire minor realm above it.

Now that the Ice Soul Gu had reached the Foundation Establishment stage, the Dragonblood Carp was eager to establish its own Foundation and complete its dragon transformation. It also wanted to refine even stronger pills—ones it could use against the Ice Soul Gu in the future.

“Senior, could I trouble you to help mature the Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi, the Nine-Life Exquisite Grass, and the Cloud-Hidden Orchid?” Lin Jing asked within his cave.

These three supreme-grade spiritual plant seeds were obtained from the Beast Taming Sect.

Among the seven spiritual seeds, the Divine Pine had taken four, while Lin Jing kept three. The Divine Pine had already matured its four seeds and refined them into Avatars to deal with the Void Mystical Ancestor of the Yin Corpse Sect.

Lin Jing’s three seeds, however, remained in their undeveloped form. While the Pine Leaf Mouse could mature spiritual plants, its current Foundation Establishment stage cultivation meant it would take an incredibly long time to do so.

“I carried you on my back, protected you, exhausted my strength maturing four spiritual seeds, and even used them to forge Avatars to fight your enemies. Do you take me for a workhorse?” the Divine Pine grumbled.

Lin Jing forced a smile. He knew Senior Divine Pine had helped him immensely this time. Originally, those four supreme-grade spiritual seeds were meant to be refined into top-tier Avatars, but instead, they had been sacrificed in battle.

And in the end… it was Lin Jing who reaped the rewards from the Demon-Slaying Bureau.

“Then please rest, Senior. These three seeds aren’t urgent—I’ll have the Pine Leaf Mouse handle them,” Lin Jing decided. He resolved not to rely too much on the Divine Pine from now on.

“That’s the right mindset,” the Divine Pine remarked. “Maturing spiritual plants is also a form of training. Let it handle it.”

“When it was still at the Qi Refinement stage, it had already reached minor success in the Everlasting Emperor’s Longevity Art, allowing it to surpass ordinary Foundation Establishment cultivators in wood-element mastery. Now that it has reached Foundation Establishment, a minor success in the Longevity Art is no longer sufficient. You should find a way to help it achieve major success.”

“With major success, combined with its bloodline, it will possess the wood-element mastery of a Core Formation spirit creature. Whether in combat or in maturing spiritual plants, it will be invaluable.”

“I understand,” Lin Jing nodded. Improving the Everlasting Emperor’s Longevity Art was actually quite simple—it just required absorbing the life essence of plants.

However, with its current cultivation, ordinary plants—even first or second-rank spiritual plants—were no longer sufficient to help the Pine Leaf Mouse progress.

Previously, they had used a combination of the second-rank Malignant Plant, the Bloodsucking Vine, along with Longevity Blood to rapidly cultivate a large number of high-quality Malignant Plants, which allowed the Pine Leaf Mouse’s Longevity Art to reach minor success.

Now, if they wanted to push it to major success, relying on the Bloodsucking Vine alone would no longer be enough.

They needed a vast quantity of higher-grade spiritual plants and Malignant Plants—quantity first, then quality!

Lin Jing sneaked a glance at Senior Divine Pine. Of course, the fastest method would be to have the Pine Leaf Mouse absorb Divine Pine itself… but he wouldn’t dare suggest that.

“Two years… I wonder if that’s enough to push the Pine Leaf Mouse’s Longevity Art to major success.”

“The top contenders on the Genius Rankings are all capable of slaying Core Formation cultivators—I can’t afford to be careless. I must ensure the Longevity Art reaches major success!”

“It’s also time for the ‘Dragon Palace Organization’ to give back.”

Instead of outright purchasing large quantities of high-grade spiritual plants, Lin Jing had a better method—his own Dragon Palace Organization!

The members of the Dragon Palace Organization came from various cultivation sects and families, each with their own supply of spiritual resources. Having them procure the plants would save him a tremendous amount of effort.

In return, they needed a large supply of Rising Dragon Pills to nurture their dragon pets. Lin Jing could simply use those pills as a form of trade.

With this monopolized barter system, he could acquire what he needed at a much better rate than buying everything himself.
