Ignoring several splinters from jumping through our thin bamboo walls and falling landing on the ground with rocks, dirt, and pebbles, the one things I would’ve wished to have on me was my fucking shoes. I mean— any type of shoes would’ve worked because once I stepped foot outside the mountain path, I’d have more problems than blisters.

’I mean— it was all blisters but I wasn’t built for running up and down the mountain barefoot

But yeah, the only shining grace from a demoness trying to chop me to pieces with my own sword was that she didn’t use her war bow with a 100-pound pull—because not to be too comparing with Kaley’s affinity with guns and shooting long distance—Aoi was akin to Kaley but with bows.

However, as much as guns were the ultimate equalizers, using bows was just too fucking different but the goals for getting monstrous with it were pretty much the same.

It’s just that—again, not comparing ma wife, Kaley, to my older sister, Aoi— and fuck it, not to talk down to our Amazonian Glutton, Tatiana, she could probably square with them from both their specialties and win seven out of ten rounds.

Because yeah, Aoi was the teams’ aces for both the archery team and the naginata club—and the only reason she wasn’t made captain was because of her responsibilities in our home.

More stories would come later regarding her life because at the current fucking moment, I’d be fucking happy if I would be granted at least a rear-view mirror.

Because yeah, while I wasn’t 100% sure that Aoi was killing me, if I didn’t dip, dive, duck, and dodged out of the fucking way the moment I felt the prickling sensation, I would’ve been buried on some random hole or get eaten by the wildlife.

I wanted to tell so much about this chase but aside from the destination, it was just a run-for-your-life simulator or a quick tour on random areas of our mountain—with me just heaving and panting while screaming for help, understanding, or for my older sister to stop.

Since from the hours she chased me all over, we reached the mines, the spring, the waterfall, the beach, the caves, the farms, the training areas, the peak, the foot, and fuck it, let’s just say we reached fucking everywhere—even circling back to some key spots—while totally avoiding everyone else that could’ve been there.

Spoiler alert, some of them fucking heard us running around but they chalked it up to siblings goofing around and rough-housing.

’Nice little extended family, huh?’

Eventually, I did scrounge up a few items I managed to snag along the way but the future didn’t look too bright at the time besides the sun circling around a few hours ago.

But yeah, I have a couple of tree branches, a pebble, a twig, three acorns, a leaf, an animal(?) bone, a blueberry, a lizard on a stick, and what was left of my stamina and insanity before I mistakenly turned left instead of right, trapping me on a cliffside where one Bonsai tree the old man "let go" grew to became one of the largest trees in this mountain—giving everyone enough shade and a good rest spot after a long hike.

So I just slowly turned around and luckily, all I saw was like me, an exhausted Aoi who was raggedly breathing but also covered in random shit—but it was just too dark for me to realize that my tachi was all banged up at the time.

"Ha… Haa…. A-Aoi-san? C-Can you— Ha… H-Hear me n-now?"

"..."

"A-Aoi-san?"

Besides her silence, her ruffled hair, which used to be this long, silky, shiny, and beautifully black ponytail, covered her face and deep blue eyes. All I could glean right now was her shoulders moving up and down as she breathed but it didn’t take long before I saw beads of water flow down from her chin and onto the ground.

At this moment, I still didn’t know whether I should approach her—because one, you don’t fucking approach a demoness with a long-ass knife and two, I wasn’t even sure what triggered her in the first place.

So I opted to talking again:

"A-Aoi-san—"

Then her blue eyes shone through her hair as she screamed at the top of her lungs, "S-SHUT UP!!! You— BAKA!!! YOU IDIOT!!! I— *sniff* I-I WAS TRYING TO— DON’T GET NEAR ME, I— I SAID DON’T GET CLOSE!! I’M YOUR S-SISTER, DAMMIT! YOUR ONEE-CHAN!!!

YOU CAN TELL ME EVERYTHING!!! I-I-I DON’T KNOW WHAT— I— SOMETHING JUST— YOU DON’T DO THAT!!! YOU DON’T DO THAT TO ME! D-DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!"

"..."

"WHAT?! S-SPEAK NOW! T-TALK TO ME, YOU IDIOT!!!"

I looked down before several things ran through my head, "I… I really was saying goodbye…"

"That doesn’t even make any sense! You— You don’t say goodbye to family! To me! To anyone! A-Are you stupid?! Aren’t you the smartest one here?!

D-Doing all this just for that is just—"

"I-I lost my parents, Aoi! I— I don’t know what to fucking do! WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THAT?! I TRAINED FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG AND PASSED THOSE TESTS AND I CAN’T EVEN PROTECT THEM FROM A DRUG ADDICT?! HOW PATHETIC IS THAT?!" ȐᴀℕỌ₿ЁȘ

"AND YOUR SOLUTION IS TO LEAVE?! LEAVE US?! YOUR FAMILY?! WE’RE YOUR FAMILY TOO, RIGHT?! AND WHERE WOULD YOU EVEN GO?! YOU HATE TRAVELLING!

YOU’D RATHER STAY IN YOUR HOME, YOU IDIOT!"

"That’s— You don’t get it—"

"THEN TELL ME!!! THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN TRYING TO ASK YOU FROM THE START!!!"

Tears just started flowing from my eyes, "I… Once I got off the mountain, I thought of… Either swimming on a random spot until I can’t anymore and drown or just hang myself in one of these trees— I don’t wanna do it here but there’s another place for that, right—"

At that fucking moment, Aoi-san was a good 15 meters away from me and she just bridged the distance in a blink of an eye before I saw my blade made contact with my shoulder. I’ve never seen her that pissed—even more than earlier—but this time, her mind was clear and she wasn’t wearing the face I always would when I’d lose control.

It was even safe to say that my story would’ve ended then and there—but since I’m here and fucking thriving—spoiler alert: she struck me with the back of my blade.

Still, the force of her swing plus our stamina running on fumes just made me lose consciousness then and there—but like Marisha fucking with my head, I woke up at a spot I’d never been before but it was still from the same mountain we were in.
