Chapter 2041: True Emperor of the Seas

Chapter 2041: True Emperor of the Seas

With a black body, pearlescent texture, and colorful circles all around its body, the squid-like sea creature that appeared before Yuan resembled the giant sea creature that killed Huang Xiao Li’s parents during their trip to the Desolate Continent.

Although it wasn’t as massive, and its aura was incomparably weaker than what he remembered, Yuan would never mistake its appearance.

‘Just what is this sea creature…?’ he wondered inwardly.

After that one encounter during the Primordial Era, Yuan never encountered it again despite his efforts to find it.

Seeing this monster on the display, Chu Liuxiang’s body trembled, and she asked Kelan with a slight frown on her face, “What is that sea creature?”

In a calm voice, Kelan responded, “If I am not mistaken, that is the True Emperor of the Seas, a mythical sea creature that has existed since the Primordial Era. Of course, the one in the trial isn’t the real thing but just an imitation.”

“True Emperor of the Seas?” Chu Liuxiang mumbled its name.

Kelan nodded and explained further, “This monster defies common sense, and it is neither a magical beast nor a divine beast. Nobody knows what it really is or where it came from, but it has existed since the Primordial Era, living deep beneath the sea. Also, it appears to have the ability to teleport from realm to realm, since it has been spotted in almost every single realm across the Nine Heavens.”

“How powerful is it?” Chu Liuxiang asked.

“Unfathomably powerful. A Cultivation God tried to hunt it before but was unsuccessful. Not only does it have regenerative abilities that rival even demons, but it has a unique power that completely renders spiritual energy useless,” Kelan said.

“It’s even stronger than a Cultivation God? That’s hard to believe…” Xi Meili muttered.

Kelan smiled and said, “In this world, there are a few entities that surpass our knowledge and defy common sense. They are known as the Four Mystic Wonders, and the True Emperor of the Seas is one of them.”

“Who are the other three?” Shi Lang asked.

Kelan pondered for a moment before responding, “I believe they are the Vanishing Emperor of the Skies, Immovable Emperor of the Earth, and the Calamity of the Void. They’re all heaven-defying entities that you do not want to mess with.”

Meanwhile, shortly after the monster’s emergence, it wasted no time and launched a fierce assault. Its colossal tentacles, each pulsing with an overwhelming concentration of Supreme Sword Aura, lashed out with terrifying momentum.

Rising high above, the tentacles blocked out the sky, casting a looming shadow over the arena like an omen. Then, in a single moment that tore through the silence, they came crashing down toward Yuan with speed and power that could pulverize mountains.

Since the arena was too small, Yuan abandoned it and flew into the sky to face the monster. Without hesitation, he fought back with Limitless Sword Domain, striking the monster with thousands of swords.

The sea creature didn’t even flinch as the attacks tore into its flesh, allowing thousands of gaping holes to be carved into its massive body. Yet, within moments, those wounds sealed themselves completely, the flesh knitting back together.

Seeing this, Yuan’s eyes turned sharp, and his entire body erupted with Supreme Sword Aura, the sheer intensity distorting the space around him. If minor wounds couldn’t slow the creature down, then he would carve a wound so deep it would take more than regeneration to recover.

He raised his sword, Supreme Sword Aura coiling around it like a dragon preparing to strike, and with a single thought, unleashed a devastating slash aimed to split the sea creature in half.

[Immortal Rendering Sword Strike!]

The very next moment, the massive sea creature’s colossal body was cleaved cleanly in half, but the Supreme Sword Aura continued its rampage, splitting the sea itself in a straight, endless line that stretched all the way to the distant horizon.

However, just like a demon, the sea creature immediately combined its split body back together and resumed its attack like nothing had happened.

“I see…” Yuan suddenly mumbled.

Just before the sea creature’s body fully regenerated, Yuan’s sharp eyes noticed several crystal balls embedded deep within its flesh, each glowing faintly with a subtle aura. Their presence had been completely concealed until his strike had momentarily laid the creature bare.

Now that he knew its weakness, Yuan wasted no time. His sword flickered constantly, quickly unleashing powerful sword techniques that tore through the monster’s flesh.

The moment a crystal ball was exposed, he struck them with perfectly controlled sword aura, tuned to match the aura surrounding the crystal.

One by one, the crystal balls shattered, each explosion causing the creature’s regeneration to falter more severely than the last.

The monster had thousands of crystal balls hidden within its massive body, so it took Yuan a few days to reveal and destroy them. Eventually, Yuan destroyed the last crystal ball.

Then, as if all strength had been drained from its body, the behemoth began to sink into the depths of the shimmering sea below.

“One day I will find the real you and kill you for real…” Yuan silently swore to himself as he watched the water swallow its massive form without resistance, leaving only ripples and the fading echo of its defeat.

Shortly after defeating the sea creature, the exit appeared, and Yuan left the second trial.

The first trial had taken him less than a day, but the second trial took ten days to clear.

When Yuan returned to the platform, he could see the other participants cultivating in silence, clearly resting after clearing their first trial.

Besides the Heavenly Son, every single participant was there.

After giving the other participants only a brief moment of his attention, Yuan turned to look at Senior Bai and said, “I’d like to start the next trial.”

When the other participants heard his words, they opened their eyes to look at him with disbelief all over their faces.
