Chapter 2507 The First of Many
Alex looked at his first opponent’s name: Grayslash.
Alchemist Grayslash had ended his round with a 94% pill, coming way ahead of his other opponent, who had made a 91% pill. It seemed that he would have to be careful right from the start now.
As the round of 64 commenced, Alex continued with the recipe he had been working on. The recipe he worked on took quite a bit of time, as it wasn’t the easiest to work with. He tried and tried, but his progress was at a snail’s pace.
He still hadn’t found the right group of ingredients to form this recipe. He worked for a few more hours and finally caught a lucky break.
He found the perfect group of ingredients that did exactly what he needed them to do. So, once he found it, he began forming the recipe.
Positioning the ingredients, formulating the rate and amount of energy needed, and determining the quantity of ingredients required for all of that took quite a bit of time still, but Alex did it.
Once he was done with that, he formed the actual recipe.
Some time later, he finally had the recipe ready. And it was the refined version of the recipe at that too.
Finally, Alex was done with the 6th recipe.
Alex looked up at the timer and noticed that over 20 real hours had passed since the start of this round. Around 15 hours still remained, which meant he had time to start working on the next recipe.
However, upon thinking a bit, he realized that he needed to make sure he passed this round at least. So, he decided to make the pill for this round.
Alex covered Memory in fire and began making the pill from the 6th recipe. The other one he prepared before this could be used in the next round.
Alex brought out the required ingredients and began placing them into the cauldron. Then, he began refining it. Slowly, he refined all ingredients, making not a single mistake at all. In the end, he turned everything into a pill.
It all came together to form the pill, and yet the making of the pill was not yet done.
The sky rumbled with thunder as dark clouds came together and gathered over where Alex was.

The Alchemy God’s voice spread through the audience to keep them entertained. Watching people sit and close their eyes, and occasionally put some ingredients into a cauldron, was no fun at all.
So, he had taken it upon himself to entertain the audience by telling them just what sort of unique pills had been made thus far in the competition.
He was with the other gods in their chamber, but he still took charge of entertaining the audience from there.
“Alchemist Dayfire made quite the unique pill today. It is one that allows a person to grow out their hair to become very long as well as giving them full control over it,” the man explained. “It is similar to the technique that I believe is employed by the Xin family of the Bloodhaven realm, albeit far less potent than theirs. I believe with their hair, they can—”
The Alchemy God paused, looking to the sky. As the clouds gathered, he smiled.
“Ladies and gentlemen, enjoy the first of many pill clouds you will be seeing today.”
The millions and millions of individuals were surprised to see the first pill clouds of the competition today. Not just that—to many, this was the first one they had seen this close.
Most pills were made in total secrecy, so no one knew what went on when one did make a pill. So, most of these people were very excited to see just what it was that happened during this process.
Silvermist sat with a proud look on his face. “That’s my disciple right there,” he said proudly, showing off to any and all that bothered to look toward him.
Many did, and that was enough for him to continue.
Some seats above him, Shumi watched the sky with her eyes wide open in surprise. “He is a really good Alchemist,” she said softly. “We should try and recruit him, you know. He will be perfect for what we want.”
Fairy Xin grimaced upon hearing that. “We can’t,” she said and didn’t bother to give any explanation.
Truth was, Alex would be a perfect recruit. He knew Shumi, and that could help her should she try to recruit him. Not to mention, he came from a lower world, so he wasn’t closely tied with the Human realms either.
But there was the other thing that stopped her from even considering it. It did not sit right with her that there was someone else who was the same as Shumi and yet the complete opposite of her.
It did not sit right that aside from her god, there was another. She could not accept it. Her people would not accept it. And for that one reason, she did not want to recruit him.
And yet… why was she still here?
If she didn’t want to recruit him, if she really did accept that their mission here had been a failure, then why had she not left yet?
Over three days had already passed, the ten-day duration asked of her was over. She could have left over a day ago, and yet she sat here, watching.
Why was that?
‘Should I truly try to recruit him?’ she wondered. Maybe the right thing to do here was to think things through objectively and do what was right for the Demons.
The Gods watched the coming of the pill clouds with some amusement.
“I’m surprised these youths are so talented nowadays. This one has what he needs to be a War Sage, and yet he can still be a top Alchemist too. Truly incredible,” the War God said. “Your heir is similar too, isn’t he?”
The Formation Monarch nodded. “You will see my disciple’s talent soon.”
“This one is the one that made all those pill clouds during one of the previous tests too, wasn’t he?” the Puppet God asked. She had been present during that time.
“He’s the master of that young girl who learned the Dao a month ago,” the Poison God mentioned.
“Get over it, Dustvenom. How long are you going to complain about that?” Killshot asked with a light chuckle.
“Until I get a public apology from him,” the Poison God said, pointing toward the Alchemy God. “He said he would allow me to have that young cultivator, and yet he asked her to join his cult before me.”
The Alchemy God looked away from the talisman he spoke into and smiled. “Poison God, I have told you that it will take me some time to make those pills for you. Please wait until the tournament is over and I have more time.”
“I will, but until then, you get to hear me complain.”
The Beast God shook her head while the bees that formed her clothes buzzed lightly with annoyance.
The Weapon God slumped against his chair, not at all amused by the showcase before him.
No one could tell what the Winter God or the Storms God thought as they ignored everyone else and watched the first pill lightning strike down from the pill cloud.
