GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

When the black snake reached the fourth snake, it began to draw a large amount of spiritual energy from them. It used the spiritual energy to grow stronger and larger.

Legion provided it as much spiritual energy as it wanted. This happened to be 40 units of spiritual energy.

The black snake expanded into a giant snake as it grew stronger. After gulping up 40 units of spiritual energy, the snake collapsed into a ball of flesh.

Legion sighed in relief and said, “It is done.”

A lot of this process has been different from what they knew. It is all because they took a different approach.

Usually, the mark of bondage is placed on the body. So when it is time for it to fuse with the slave, the mark behaves like divine flesh and is assimilated by the slave through their body.

They thought that the process was going to fail because they invaded Black Knife’s existence through his mind. But everything turned out well. They know this because they can now see through Black Knife’s eyes.

Even the other slaves noticed that Black Knife had changed. It is because he grew another pair of pupils in his eyes.

An extra pair of pupils is usually the sign of gaining an extra pathway. The mark of bondage can create an extra pupil because it has indeed created an extra pathway for Black Knife.

This pathway is called the Slave Pathway. It is under the control of the master of the slave.

Legion can use this pathway to see everything that Black Knife is doing and also share some of their abilities with him through the mark of bondage in his existence.

This is the other ability of the Life Bond ability other than being able to prevent the slave from escaping and killing slaves with a thought.

Life Bond turns the slave into an extension of the master. This is just the beginning of the change, though.

Currently, Black Knife still has free will. Nothing has changed about him other than the presence of the pathway of the slave. But that won’t remain the same forever.

Not that the pathway of the slave is a simple matter. If it were simple, many people wouldn’t be of the same mind about eliminating the pathway of slavery.

With this success in their hands, Legion felt confident about using the Life Bond ability on their other slaves. They hypnotized the three of them and then installed the pathway of the slave in them.

After doing this, they finally spoke to the four of them.

They didn’t mince words. They went straight to the point and said, “If you know what just happened to you, then you should know that there is no going back.”

They were referring to the Black Knife when they said this. Only he knew about the pathway of the slave and what it meant.

Black Knife knew that the faceless one was a slave master. He had been filled before because he couldn’t find the mark of bondage anywhere on his body.

Now that things have reached this level, he began to regret that he hadn’t been more proactive before. He began to feel despair as he knew that his chances of regaining his freedom had fallen to zero.

But before he could wallow in his despair, Legion began to use Hypnotize on him.

They said to him, “Everything will be fine. As long as there is life, there is hope. You just need to take things one step at a time.”

Black Knife nodded in agreement as he “thought” this. The sight made Legion curl their lips in amusement.

They were happy that their slaves won’t be able to commit suicide ever again and were amused to see their scheming slave subdued physically and mentally.

While this was going on, the other clones were still speaking to their other slaves.

The other three didn’t know what the pathway of the slave was, so they didn’t feel despair. They only felt confusion, which Legion liked about them.

Legion said to them, “If you don’t know why you grew another set of pupils, it is because I am sharing my power with you. You will be able to use some of my divine abilities from now on.”

“So you’re stronger than ever before. This is a reward for your good services.”

“Don’t thank me for it. It is what you deserve. This extra power will also make you more useful helpers to me.”

Legion asked not to be thanked, but the four of them still thanked him for the gift. It is because Legion put it in their minds through Hypnotize to give thanks.

They didn’t need to tell their slaves the part about being able to see what they do and being able to kill them. It was better that they didn’t know, as that information won’t help them at all.

The information will only make them anxious and will make Legion have to do a lot of work to make them relax. Legion didn’t want to do that, so they hid the information.

After explaining why they had extra pupils, they introduced the new abilities that the slaves had gained to them.

Legion can only share the divine abilities of one pathway through a single mark of bondage. After a short deliberation, they decided to share the abilities of the pathway of killing with them through the pathway of the slave.

They made this decision mostly because the divine abilities of the pathway of killing will make the most significant improvement in their slaves.

Another reason why they chose the pathway of killing is because they didn’t want to share their other pathways.

They certainly don’t want to share the pathway of slavery with their slaves. That will be like handing them access to the chains that bound them.

It is not certain that the four slaves will be able to use the divine abilities of the pathway of slavery to escape, but they might be able to cause some trouble with it.
