Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG
Chapter 875 - 875 - From Depths to DecksThe journey to the island took longer than Broken expected.
Now that he thought about it, even when he had been pulled down by the whirlpool at high speed, it had taken quite some time to reach the depths of the Oceanic Kingdom. And now, swimming back at a normal pace—even with his upgraded movement—it felt like forever.
Beside him, Tirien swam with smooth, effortless grace. The merfolk warrior seemed completely at ease, barely breaking a rhythm, as if the immense distance was just a casual stroll.
Eventually, the dark ocean floor began to rise.
Bit by bit, the depths grew brighter, and the seabed sloped upward—signs that they were nearing the ocean surface. Broken could feel it, the pressure shifting, the water growing lighter.
And finally, the surface broke around them.
The two of them emerged from the sea, swimming toward the shore of the familiar island where it had all begun. As they neared the beach, Broken immediately spotted Aego the Ship Golem towering at the edge—and not far from it, a group of familiar figures.
His companions were already waving from the shore.
Broken and Tirien pushed forward and swam faster, reaching the shallows before stepping out of the water. His boots hit solid sand for the first time in what felt like forever.
The moment they reached land, SexyGrill came jogging over with her usual dramatic flair. “Welcome back, King of the Oceanic Kingdom!” she said with a grin.
Ronan followed with a hearty laugh. “I heard the whole thing—and I still don’t believe half of what you pulled off down there, King, hahaha.”
Mizuki stepped forward. “And congratulations on the birth of your two children, King.”
Other companions echoed their greetings, clearly relieved to see him safe and back on land.
Broken smiled, then gestured to the figure at his side. “This is Tirien. He’ll be accompanying us to locate the floating island of the Vensalor Kingdom.”
Tirien gave a polite nod, calm and composed.
“Hi, Tirien!” Mizuki said cheerfully, already sizing him up with curiosity.
SexyBloom, as expected, wasn’t present. She likely hadn’t logged in yet—which made sense, considering how sudden Broken’s return was.
Broken walked deeper into the island, passing familiar paths now flanked by signs of settlement. Makeshift structures had begun to rise—some modest, some more solid—and at the center stood the Resurrection Temple.
As he surveyed the place, Ronan stepped up beside him. “It’d be smart to claim this island, King,” he said casually. “You’ll need land eventually to build your own kingdom, right?”
Broken nodded slowly, his eyes still scanning the horizon. But after a moment, he let out a quiet sigh.
“Maybe… but after seeing how easily a Named Demon got this close to here, I don’t know. It feels like a waste of effort.”
Because if another one showed up?
He wasn’t confident they’d survive it.
Besides, the island still had high-level monsters roaming deeper inland—not to mention the restless ghost spirits that haunted certain parts of it.
“I’m pretty sure Bloom wouldn’t love that idea either,” he added, half to himself.
Not long after, Broken gathered Tirien and made his way toward the ship. Mizuki joined them, already pulling up their navigational tools.
“We’ll need a route,” she said. “Can you mark the location?”
Tirien shook his head. “I can only point you in the direction. I don’t have a map for it.”
Mizuki frowned. “Can you at least tell us how far?”
“The distance is… difficult to measure,” Tirien replied calmly. “But I can guide you.”
Broken exchanged a look with her, then gave a resigned shrug. “Well, Mizuki… looks like we don’t have much of a choice.”
She smiled. “Yes, King. At least we’re not wandering the ocean completely blind.”
Tirien lifted a hand and pointed toward the horizon, indicating a specific direction in the vast, endless sea.
SexyGrill squinted into the distance. “I think that’s still aligned with where the island might be, Broken.”
“Good,” Broken said, stepping back toward the deck. “No time to waste. We set out immediately.”
“Wait… King…” Ronan called out, raising his voice over the hum of preparation. “You’re not seriously planning to take the ship through another storm, right? We just finished fixing her. She’s perfect again!”
Broken chuckled lightly. “No worries. The storm’s been neutralized.”
Mizuki blinked. “Neutralized? How?”
“That’s something the Oceanic Kingdom handled,” Broken explained. “Queen Nerisa deactivated it herself.”
“Wow,” Ronan whistled, then laughed. “That queen’s seriously something else. The storm she created nearly tore our ship apart… and she just shut it off like it was nothing.”
Mizuki added. “If only I could visit the kingdom too…”
Soon after, everyone finished preparations, the crew had returned aboard, and Aego, the great golem ship, began to stir—its massive turbines pushing them away from the shore with a deep rumble.
The ship slowly drifted from the dock, picking up speed as the wind caught and the magical engine beneath began to churn.
Everyone turned to face the island, standing side by side on deck, hands raised high.
“Goodbye, island! We’ll miss you!”
“Hiks… such a shame we can’t claim it now.”
“This island still belongs to us,” another replied. “No one else even knows it exists.”
“Yeah, but we’ve gotta clear out the monsters before we really own them!”
The journey pressed on, the waves calm and the sky clear—nothing like the chaos they’d faced before.
They passed through the region where the massive storm had once raged, now eerily quiet. The water shimmered with unnatural stillness, and though the skies were open, the crew moved cautiously. No one said it aloud, but the tension was clear. That place had left scars. Everyone remembered the violent waves, the near-death moments. Passing through it again—even in peace—felt like brushing past a ghost.
Still, the ship sailed forward.
Hours passed, and they moved steadily in the direction Tirien had pointed. No questions, no detours. There wasn’t much else to go on. They had no other clues, no maps, no legends to chase—only trust in the word of the merfolk warrior. They were already far into the ocean. There was no turning back now.
Then, in the quiet hum of the control room, Ronan suddenly stirred. He looked like a man remembering something important, his brows furrowed as he leaned closer to the navigation panel where Broken stood.
“I think… I think we’re heading toward a place I’ve seen before,” he said slowly.
Broken glanced at him, waiting.
Ronan turned fully to face him. “King, remember when I told you I once encountered a Legendary-grade monster out in the middle of the sea?”
Broken narrowed his eyes. “Yeah… I remember.”
Ronan pulled out his map. His finger tapped a marked point in the open sea.
“We’re heading right for that spot.”
Broken tilted his head.
“Could it be…?” he muttered, half to himself. “Could that location be tied to the forest elves? The lost floating island?”
Mizuki, listening nearby, spoke with an uneasy tone. “More like… King, I’m worried. If we do run into another creature like that out here, Aego might not survive it. Not this time.”
The silence that followed her words was heavy. No one dared say otherwise.
But the truth hung unspoken in the air:
They might not have a choice.
Whatever waited ahead or they were heading right toward it.
