Chapter 6215: Lost Inheritance
“The Nine Secret Arts Inheritance Ground?”
Both Xianhai Shaoyu and Little Fishy looked at the nine sculptures with gleaming eyes.
“Is it still possible to receive the inheritance now?” Chu Feng asked.
He deduced that the energy inside the nine sculptures was likely the energy required to learn the secret skills, but the energies were already waning.
“Before talking about the Nine Secret Skills, I must first talk about our founder. Our founder is a discreet but powerful cultivator. He was the creator of the Nine Secret Skills. However, he couldn’t pass them down because of their immense power, so he constructed the Nine Secret Skills Inheritance Ground.
“What lies here isn’t the real Nine Secret Skills but their weakened versions. Clansmen who meet the criteria can undergo the inheritance of the secret skill, but what they take away from the inheritance may differ depending on the extent of their talent.
“Over time, the secret skills in this inheritance ground have grown weak, so none of our clansmen would come here to inherit them anymore. Elders who have already acquired the secret skills can pass them down to others, so we’re no longer reliant on the inheritance ground. Instead, we left a bit of energy inside the sculptures as a commemoration.
“Quite a few of our clansmen have grasped the Nine Secret Skills. For instance, I have grasped three of the Ancient Era’s secret skills.”
Zhan Moli released her martial power toward the sky, and it manifested into a 10,000-meter-tall halberd. Seconds later, a blade and sword of the same height also manifested as well.
Zhan Moli beckoned the three weapons over. The three weapons descended from the sky, contracting as they made their way down until they were the size of a normal weapon, before floating next to her.
Chu Feng eyed the Ancient Era’s War Sword.
It was identical to the one he had grasped, but there was a difference in its aura. Even though Zhan Moli was only at Half-God level, he sensed that her Ancient Era’s War Sword was stronger than his.
“Young master Chu Feng, you seem interested in the Ancient Era’s War Sword?” Zhan Moli noticed Chu Feng’s gaze.
“I just think the sword looks suave,” Chu Feng replied with a smile.
“You have a good eye, young master Chu Feng. The Ancient Era’s War Sword is ranked third among the Nine Secret Arts. In first place is the Ancient Era’s War Halberd, followed by the Ancient Era’s War Blade,” Zhan Moli replied.
“So, Miss Moli has grasped the three strongest secret skills?” Chu Feng asked.
“I inherited these secret skills from a clan elder for commemoration. They aren’t particularly powerful. The strongest secret skills in our clan are currently with my father,” Zhan Moli said.
“All nine of them?” Chu Feng asked.
“Yes, the strongest nine secret skills are with him, but that’s only including those still within our clan. Many of our elders left with the more powerful secret skills in the early years of the present era, though those secret skills are still weaker than our founder’s. Only our founder has the true Nine Secret Skills,” Zhan Moli explained.
“Does the Ancient Era’s War Clan no longer have the true Nine Secret Skills?” Chu Feng asked.
“Our founder left after constructing the Nine Secret Skills Inheritance Ground. Many years have passed since. I don’t think he’s in the world anymore. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say our Ancient Era’s War Clan’s true Nine Secret Skills are no longer around,” Zhan Moli said in lamentation.
Eggy murmured contemplatively, “That means the version you received is just a replica, and it’s possibly one of the weaker ones among the many.”
“That seems to be the case,” Chu Feng replied.
“Chu Feng, this Zhan Moli seems easygoing. Why don’t you ask her about the Ancient Era’s War Clan’s branches?” Eggy asked.
“I was thinking the same too,” Chu Feng replied Eggy. he turned to Zhan Moli and said, “Miss Moli, there’s something I’d like to ask.”
“Feel free, young master Chu Feng,” Zhan Moli replied.
“I have a friend who stumbled upon Ancient Era’s War Clansmen by coincidence. Those clansmen are friendly, but they don’t seem to be particularly powerful. Some of them wield the Ancient Era’s secret skills, and according to my friend, they greatly resemble yours. So, I’m curious to know if those people are impersonators or true Ancient Era’s War Clansmen?”
Chu Feng chose to ask in an indirect way to avoid trouble.
“They could be impersonators, but they could also be one of our branches. Something happened in the earlier years of the present era, prompting many of our clansmen to leave and never return,” Zhan Moli explained.
“I see. My friend said that the Ancient Era’s War Clansmen he met are currently lying low. Judging from your words, they might be a branch of the Ancient Era’s War Clan,” Chu Feng remarked.
“Did your friend mention where he met them?” Zhan Moli asked out of curiosity.
“He didn’t mention it,” Chu Feng replied.
“Did your friend say how those Ancient Era’s War Clansmen are faring?”
“They seem to be faring decently.”
“That’s good to hear.” Zhan Moli breathed a sigh of relief. Even though it was just a branch that had left many years back, she was still concerned about them.
Boom!
Suddenly, there was a loud noise.
Spirit power was raging on the plains outside the city. Powerful shockwaves rippled through the clouds; they could be seen even from a distance away.
“My apologies. Something has happened. Please wait for me here. I’ll be right back. Otherwise, you can also accompany me,” Zhan Moli said.
“Don’t worry about it. Let’s head there together,” Xianhai Shaoyu said.
All of them could tell that a problem had cropped up.
Despite the ruckus, it wasn’t a particularly threatening situation. The raging spirit power was only at the level of an early True Dragon World Spiritist.
“All right. Please come with me.”
Zhan Moli brought the three of them over.
The commotion was coming from an empty clearing. The shockwaves had mostly dissipated by the time they arrived, but the clearing was in a mess. Countless natural oddities were scattered around the clearing, and quite a few people were injured.
These people were all world spiritists, but none of them were carrying the Ancient Era’s War Clan’s waist tokens.
“I hope everyone is fine. Let’s continue. We’ll start with organizing the materials,” an old voice echoed.
The crowd glanced over and saw a yellow-haired, ugly old man.
While issuing orders, he constructed a recovery formation to heal himself. He had sustained some injuries from the earlier impact. Just by looking at his formation, one could tell that he was just a rank one True Dragon World Spiritist.
He looked to be the leader of the group, judging from how the others obeyed his orders.
“Elder Li, are you fine?” Zhan Moli rushed to the old man’s side.
“Miss Moli, what brings you here? Did the commotion disturb you? I’m sorry for my incompetence,” Elder Li said apologetically.
“It’s fine, Elder Li. I’m glad you’re fine. You’re the hope of our clan now,” Zhan Moli said.
Elder Li breathed a sigh of relief. He was terrified that Zhan Moli would blame him for his failure.
“What’s happened? Yet another failure? How useless. We wasted our resources raising fools!” another voice echoed from the horizon.
An army of people were heading in their direction. It was Zhan Moli’s big sister, Zhan Mudan.
