MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1525 - 1525: The Limits of ForgingTtang! Ttang! Ttang!
With the two of them agreeing to work on Ataraxia’s version of the Half Wyvern Armor first, the two watched the copies from the side as they continued to forge the components that were needed for the entire set.
“…Now that I think about it, when did you start having them make the components?” Feeling a bit of boredom from having to wait, the young man decided to pass the time by making some small talk with his original self. “Was it before we went to the restaurant?”
“More or less.” Valyr nodded, the gears in his mind turning as he continued to draft the plan they would use to forge the new armor set. “Partly to get things set up in advance, mostly to test other things about the skill I haven’t figured out yet.”
“Other things?” Ataraxia looked at him with a hint of confusion.
“Things like if the copies can still do their tasks even with me not being near them,” said the young man as if he were already expecting the question. “Since we’ve headed to the restaurant and back with the copies still working, I’d say I got my answer there.”
“Have you figured out how far you could go before the copies stop working?” asked Ataraxia in return.
“Not yet, but I have my thoughts,” answered Valyr as he glanced at the output of the copies. “Aside from that, I also checked if the copies consume more energy from me the farther they are, as well as if their output deviates from the set of actions I gave them.”
“…The verdict?”
“Surprisingly, no change whatsoever,” responded the young man, wondering how such a god-like skill fell onto his lap after only evolving his main class once.
Though this thought made him wonder what kind of changes his other skills would undergo if he were to evolve his main class one more time, Valyr decided to shelf the thought for now, instead choosing to focus on the task at hand.
“Alright.” Seeing one of the copies deliver all of the finished components needed to forge the new armor set, Valyr went ahead and made his way to the anvil, prompting Ataraxia to follow after him.
Taking out the Hammer of Beginnings from his spatial bracelet, the young man then began to check the components the copies made one by one, only to then chuck them into the furnace once he was done.
Whoosh!
Infusing a bit of energy to increase the energy’s heat, Valyr went ahead and activated both of his ocular skills as he gave his other self a rundown of what he was planning to do.
“Although the components made by the copies are pretty good quality, I’ll still check them first with both of my ocular skills before forging them into the armor pieces.”
“I’m guessing you want me to do the same thing?” asked Ataraxia after a bit of thought, to which the young man nodded in agreement.
“The fact that we’re covering every possible imperfection with all of our ocular skills working together is definitely enough to boost the rarity of the Half Wyvern Armor to a high level.”
“The question now is… how far would it be pushed?”
Feeling a hint of excitement and anticipation for the new set of armor he’d be owning, Ataraxia watched by the side of the anvil as Valyr began to take out some of the components out of the furnace.
Activating [Zen: First Lotus Step] to both boost his attributes and maintain a tranquil mind throughout the process, the young man went ahead and activated his Intent of Forging through the Truth Weaver Scripture as he began to iron out the components’ imperfections.
Seeing as his original self was starting to forge the armor set in earnest, Ataraxia went ahead and activated [Sight of Arcane Origin], causing his vision to change.
Whoosh!
Noticing the various tangles in the strands binding the component together, the young man went ahead and sent this information to Valyr through their shared thoughts, which the latter quickly fixed with a few taps of the hammer.
With that, the two fell into a trance that turned the process of perfecting each component into a massive blur.
Nevertheless, with both of them working together to iron out all the imperfections on the components, the two were more than certain that they had push the quality of the eventual armor as high as it could possibly go.
“…How long have we been working on the components?”
By the time Valyr made sure that the final component had no imperfections whatsoever, the young man decided to take a quick break in preparation for the next step.
“About an entire day,” said Ataraxia after a bit of thought, to which the young man nodded as he ordered meals for the both of them.
“I suppose that makes sense,” replied Valyr. “After all, this is the first time we’ve really put in this much attention towards making sure every part of the forging process is as close to being perfect as possible.”
“You think the armor set would jump to Rare+ grade after everything we did?” asked Ataraxia after some time, closing his eyes for a bit to rest his mind.
“At this point, I would be more surprised if it didn’t,” replied the young man, causing the two to chuckle as their meals arrived a few minutes later.
With them only spending a few minutes devouring their meals with gusto, the two did not take long to return to their work, both of them eager to see what kind of equipment would come out in the end.
“[Breath of Beginnings].”
Considering that the best skill contained within the Hammer of Beginnings had a week-long cooldown, Valyr and Ataraxia agreed to forge the chestplate of the new armor set first, especially since it acted as the core of the armor set in its upgraded versions.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Continuing to push his skills and Intents to their utmost limits, Valyr showed extreme focus as he combined the components making up the chestplate together, making sure that the connection was seamless with the help of his ocular skills.
Of course, with Ataraxia helping him, that seamlessness was taken one step further, allowing the chestplate to reach an impeccable sense of harmony and unity the more the young man worked out.
However, just as Valyr was about to add the finishing touches to the chestplate, a sudden thought came to his mind.
With that, he looked at Ataraxia and suggested. “Say… why not drop a bit of your blood on the chestplate before I complete it?”
The latter’s expression slightly turned odd. “Is that a step on the guide you’re following?”
“It’s not.” Valyr shook his head. “But my gut is telling me we’ll get something good if you do it.”
“And if we don’t?”
“No harm in waiting a week and forging it again.”
“…You do have a point.” Convinced by the young man’s sound logic, Ataraxia took in a deep breath as he placed his wrist right above the nearly-completed chestplate.
Whoosh!
Without hesitation, he used a skill to create a cut on his wrist, causing blood to flow down and spread throughout the entire chestplate.
Watching his other self’s blood cover the surface of the chestplate, Valyr eventually told Ataraxia that he’d given enough blood, only to then place the chestplate into the furnace one last time.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Putting the final touches on the chestplate, the young man took in a deep breath as he tapped the hammer one last time, inwardly wishing that his impulsive decision to add Ataraxia’s blood to it wasn’t in vain.
Fortunately, after looking through the swathes of notifications he received…
Ding!
It seemed like it wasn’t.
