MYTH BEYOND HEAVEN

Chapter 2740 - 2740: Technique (2)

Hei Yue made a strangled noise. “Father! You never taught me that one!”

“Because you weren’t ready,” Hei Xuan said simply. “He is.”

Yun Lintian accepted the second slip, his expression turning grave as he absorbed its contents. Unlike the first technique, this one was immediately dangerous — not to the enemy, but to the user. It taught how to become a living void, to erase one’s own existence temporarily to avoid any attack.

The risks were obvious. Stay in that state too long, and you might never return.

Without hesitation, Yun Lintian began practicing. His form flickered, then vanished completely – not invisibility, but true non-existence. Even Hei Xuan’s divine senses couldn’t detect him.

Five breaths passed. Ten…

Just as concern began to show on Hei Yue’s face, Yun Lintian reappeared, his face slightly pale but otherwise unharmed.

“Twenty breaths is the safe limit,” he assessed. “Beyond that risks permanent dissolution.”

Hei Xuan looked impressed. “You pushed to twenty on your first try? Reckless. But correct.” He turned serious. “There’s a third technique, but I won’t give it to you yet.”

“Why not?” Yun Lintian asked.

“Because it requires something you don’t currently have,” Hei Xuan said cryptically. “You’ll know when the time comes.”

Boom!

Before Yun Lintian could press further, the training ground suddenly trembled. The darkness itself seemed to recoil from some unseen pressure.

Mu Ren immediately drew his sword. “We’re under attack!”

But Hei Xuan shook his head, his expression grim. “No. That’s Qinglan’s aura.” He turned to Yun Lintian. “Seems your wife’s mother has come to visit.”

Hei Yue was both nervous and delighted. “Mother is here?”

“Exactly.” Hei Xuan sighed. “And now she’s coming to ‘purify’ you.” He clapped Yun Lintian on the shoulder. “Congratulations, boy. Your first test with the new techniques comes sooner than expected.”

As the light intensified, threatening to tear apart the Eternal Darkness Realm itself, Yun Lintian simply nodded, his form already beginning to blur at the edges.

“Let her come.”

Buzz—

A blinding radiance tore through the Eternal Darkness Realm like a spear of dawn piercing eternal night. The shadows recoiled as if burned, revealing a figure floating amidst the destruction — a woman whose mere presence made the darkness itself seem impure.

Li Qinglan, the God of Light, had arrived.

Her silver-white robes fluttered without wind, each thread woven from condensed starlight. Her eyes — pools of liquid sunlight — swept across the training grounds with divine judgment. When they landed on Hei Yue, they softened momentarily with maternal warmth. Then they found Hei Xuan.

And froze into glacial ice.

“You…” Her voice, usually melodious like wind chimes, now carried the sharpness of shattered crystal. “Your power… Where is it?”

Hei Xuan grinned, spreading his arms wide. “Qinglan! What brings you to my humble—”

“Don’t play games!” Light erupted around her in furious waves. “Your divinity is gone. Explain. Now.”

Hei Yue stepped forward. “Mother, please—”

“Stay out of this, child.” Li Qinglan didn’t even glance at her daughter, her gaze locked onto Hei Xuan like a hawk sighting prey. “Was it some foolish scheme of yours?”

Hei Xuan chuckled, casually brushing non-existent dust off his sleeves. “So you do still care. How touching.”

A beam of concentrated sunlight lanced toward him — only to dissipate against an invisible barrier. Yun Lintian stood between them, his hand raised, shadows swirling around his fingers.

Li Qinglan’s eyes narrowed. “Who are you to interfere?”

Before Yun Lintian could answer, Hei Yue rushed forward. “Mother! He’s—”

“I’ll handle this,” Yun Lintian said calmly. To Li Qinglan: “I took his power.”

The admission hung in the air like a death sentence. The light around Li Qinglan intensified to blinding levels, forcing even Mu Ren to shield his eyes.

“You… WHAT?” Each syllable dripped with divine wrath.

Yun Lintian remained unmoved. “He gave it willingly.”

“Impossible!” Li Qinglan’s form flickered as if barely containing her rage. “No Primordial God would surrender their divinity unless—”

“Unless they had no choice?” Hei Xuan interrupted, stepping up beside Yun Lintian. “Or unless they found someone worthy to inherit it?” He smirked. “Guess which one this is.”

Li Qinglan’s gaze darted between them, her expression shifting from fury to confusion to dawning horror. “You… you’re training him? To gather all the Primordial powers?”

“Smart as ever,” Hei Xuan said cheerfully.

The temperature in the realm suddenly spiked. The ground beneath Li Qinglan’s feet turned to molten glass. “You would create another Creator? Have you lost your mind?!”

She was furious as she glared at Hei Xuan. “How could you risk our daughter like this? If Nian Shi learns—”

“He already knows,” Yun Lintian said flatly. “In my timeline, he’s won. The Primordial Gods are gone. I’m here to stop that future.”

Li Qinglan froze. For the first time, she properly examined Yun Lintian — not just as an intruder, but as something else entirely. Her divine senses brushed against his aura… and recoiled.

“You’re…” Her voice lost its edge. “From another time?”

Hei Xuan nodded. “Told you he was special.”

Ignoring him, Li Qinglan focused on Yun Lintian. “Prove it.”

Without hesitation, Yun Lintian extended his hand. A memory crystal materialized, projecting images of the event on his timeline.

Li Qinglan watched in growing solemn. When it finished, she took an unsteady step back. “This… this can’t be…”

“It is,” Hei Xuan said, all humor gone from his voice. “And he’s the only one who can stop it.”

Silence fell. The light around Li Qinglan dimmed as she processed this. Then her gaze snapped to Hei Yue. “And you? Where do you stand in all this?”

Hei Yue lifted her chin. “With them.”

“You don’t understand what you’re saying!” Li Qinglan’s composure cracked. “If you side with them, you’ll be opposing the entire celestial order!”

“An order that’s already crumbling,” Hei Xuan pointed out. “Nian Shi has likely corrupted the Sun and Star Gods already.”

Li Qinglan whirled on him. “You don’t know that!”

“Don’t I?” Hei Xuan’s voice turned cold. “When was the last time you spoke with Yang Chen? Has he been more secretive lately? More… ambitious?”

The slight flinch in Li Qinglan’s expression answered for her.

Hei Xuan seized the moment. “Qinglan, we need your help. Your power—”

“Never.” The word came out as a whisper, but carried finality. “I won’t surrender my divinity to some… some stranger from a possible future!”

Hei Xuan exhaled. “Then we’ll have to do this the hard way.”

The atmosphere shifted instantly. Li Qinglan’s radiance condensed into armor of solidified light. She stared at Yun Lintian and asked coldly. “You would dare challenge a Primordial God in her own domain?”

“No,” Yun Lintian said calmly. “I’d challenge you here.”
