Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2769 - 2769: Time God (1)

Kong Xuan appeared beside Yun Lintian in an instant. “He’s targeting your weaknesses.”

“I know.” Yun Lintian wiped the blood away. His golden-flecked eyes hardened. “We finish the transfer. Now.”

The God of Space hesitated. “With Nian Shi interfering—”

“Trust me.” Yun Lintian raised Heaven Sunderer. “I’ll guard your back.”

Kong Xuan studied him for a breath—then nodded. “Don’t die.”

As the God of Space resumed the spatial transfer, Nian Shi’s voice echoed with newfound urgency:

“Fool! You’re handing him the key to—”

Yun Lintian swung Heaven Sunderer again.

The crimson blade tore through dimensions, silencing Nian Shi mid-sentence. The Infinite Realm shook as two Primordial Authorities—Space and War—finally merged within one vessel.

And in that moment, Yun Lintian glimpsed the truth:

Everywhere.

Nowhere.

The fabric of reality laid bare before his newly awakened spatial senses.

Nian Shi’s hiding place flickered at the edge of perception—

—then vanished like smoke.

Yun Lintian’s newly awakened spatial senses pulsed. He could feel Nian Shi’s presence flickering through dimensions—here one moment, gone the next.

“Left!” Kong Xuan barked.

Yun Lintian twisted, Heaven Sunderer flashing crimson.

Clang!

A temporal blade materialized from empty air, shattering against the greatsword’s edge. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the Infinite Realm.

“Behind you!” Qing Yun shouted, finally freed from frozen time.

Yun Lintian didn’t turn. He folded space instead—

—and suddenly his back was facing forward. Heaven Sunderer plunged into what should have been empty air—

“Ugh!”

Nian Shi’s pained gasp echoed as the blade grazed his shoulder. Golden blood splattered across fractured dimensions before the wound rewound itself, healing instantly.

“Clever,” Nian Shi’s voice came from everywhere at once. “But can you keep up?”

Reality twisted.

Suddenly, Yun Lintian was attacking himself—a temporal reflection of his own sword strike coming from three seconds in the future.

Boom!

He barely deflected it, the force sending him skidding back.

“Damn time tricks,” Kong Xuan snarled, tearing open spatial rifts to intercept more temporal blades. “He’s untouchable like this!”

Linlin yowled as a blade nearly took her head off. Qingqing screamed, darting between attacks like a leaf in a storm.

Yun Lintian’s mind raced. Think!

His spatial senses flared—

—and he saw it.

A pattern.

Every time Nian Shi attacked, there was a microsecond where all possible timelines converged into a single point—

—a vulnerability.

“Senior Kong!” Yun Lintian shouted. “On my mark—lock down everything!”

The God of Space grinned savagely. “About time you asked!”

Yun Lintian charged, Heaven Sunderer blazing with all eight authorities.

“Now!”

Kong Xuan’s hands clenched. The entire Infinite Realm stopped. Every dimension, every possibility—frozen in a perfect spatial lock.

For one impossible moment—

—Nian Shi stuttered into visibility.

Yun Lintian struck.

Heaven Sunderer carved through time itself, its crimson edge drinking in temporal energy like blood.

Swoosh!

However, Yun Lintian’s blade sliced through the air—only to pass harmlessly through Nian Shi’s flickering form.

The Time God’s laughter echoed mockingly as he reappeared ten paces away, golden robes fluttering in non-existent wind.

“Too slow,” Nian Shi taunted, wagging a finger. “Is this all the mighty Primordial Sovereign can do?”

Yun Lintian gritted his teeth. He’d attacked a hundred times already—each strike perfectly aimed, each movement honed by the War God’s instincts. Yet every time, Nian Shi simply… wasn’t there when the blade arrived.

Whoosh!

A temporal blade materialized behind Qingqing. Yun Lintian folded space instantly—

Clang!

—barely deflecting it in time. The impact rattled his bones.

“Big Brother Yun!” Qingqing squeaked, darting behind him.

“Stay close,” Yun Lintian ordered, eyes scanning the shifting void.

Kong Xuan appeared at his side, spatial energy crackling around his fists. “He’s toying with us.”

“I noticed,” Yun Lintian muttered. His grip tightened on Heaven Sunderer. The greatsword pulsed angrily, as if frustrated by its inability to taste Nian Shi’s blood.

“Oh?” Nian Shi’s voice came from directly behind Yun Lintian’s ear. “Does the mighty blade hunger?”

Yun Lintian spun—

—but Nian Shi was already gone, reappearing atop a floating island. The Time God lounged lazily, chin propped on one hand.

“Tell me, little sovereign—how does it feel?” Nian Shi’s smile widened. “To hold so much power… and still be utterly helpless?”

A barrage of temporal blades erupted from all directions.

Yun Lintian moved in a blur. Darkness swallowed attacks from the left. Sun incinerated those from the right. Space folded to protect Linlin and Qingqing. War guided his blade to intercept the deadliest strikes.

Yet for every attack he blocked, two more slipped through. A shallow cut opened on his cheek. Another on his arm. The wounds healed instantly thanks to Life authority—but the message was clear.

You can’t stop them all.

“Damn it!” Kong Xuan snarled, hurling spatial lances that passed harmlessly through Nian Shi’s afterimages. “Fight us properly, you coward!”

“But where’s the fun in that?” Nian Shi chuckled. With a casual flick of his wrist, time itself stuttered—

—and suddenly Yun Lintian was five seconds in the past, watching helplessly as his earlier self futilely swung at empty air.

“See?” Nian Shi’s voice whispered in his ear. “You can’t even trust your own senses.”

The world snapped back to the present. Yun Lintian staggered, nausea rising as temporal whiplash assaulted his mind.

Linlin growled, her white fur standing on end. “This isn’t fighting! It’s cheating!”

“Cheating?” Nian Shi pressed a hand to his chest in mock offense. “I’m simply using my advantages. Isn’t that what your precious ‘Big Brother Yun’ has been doing?” His eyes gleamed maliciously. “Absorbing power after power like a greedy child?”

Yun Lintian ignored the taunts. His golden-flecked eyes narrowed as he analyzed every flicker of Nian Shi’s presence. There had to be a pattern—a weakness.

Then he saw it.

Every time Nian Shi altered reality, there was a split-second where all possible timelines converged. A single, immutable point where the Time God had to exist in one place at one time.

Yun Lintian’s lips curled into a grim smile.

“Senior Kong,” he murmured. “When I give the signal—”

The God of Space followed his gaze and grinned savagely. “Just say the word.”

Yun Lintian charged again—but this time differently. Instead of attacking directly, he began herding Nian Shi’s movements, using controlled bursts of Space and Balance to subtly influence where the Time God would appear next.

Nian Shi’s amused laughter followed him. “Really? You think—”

“Now!”

Kong Xuan’s hands shot forward. Space itself crystallized around Nian Shi—not trying to trap him, but to guide him. To force that momentary convergence.

For one infinitesimal instant—

—Nian Shi had to be in one place.

Yun Lintian struck.
