Chapter 941: That’s Not All
Vex moaned into the kiss, releasing a deep, pleased sound of agreement to Aurora’s words, evidencing that despite the way in which her lips clung to Quinlan’s like she was trying to permanently fuse their souls, she was listening.
Her voice echoed across their minds a moment later, sultry and playful as ever, though delivered via the eerie clarity of the [Master’s Link] spell, given to all his [Subjugated] people, who now counted Vex the Hexblade in its ranks.
<Test test~ Can my sisters and future sisters hear me?>
The girls flinched involuntarily as her voice entered their minds.
<Cool! What an amazing spell this is! Now I no longer have to keep that damned communication artifact on me.>
<What about accepting the calls of other Consortium members…? You’re a Veil Walker, Vex, with a ton of responsibilities on your shoulders.> Ayame said, but found herself thoroughly ignored because Vex revealed quite the shocker.
<I’m level 63, stats just a tiny bit higher than my precious hubby’s who is busy kneading my butt as if he expects it to turn into a tasty cake thanks to his diligent efforts~>
There was a pause, just long enough for her to swirl her tongue around Quinlan’s as their kiss never ceased for a single moment.
<So using me as the measurement stick… that’d put our smug primordial lover somewhere around level 56, give or take.>
“…” None of the girls could offer a proper response to the revelation of Quinlan’s strongest woman.
“By the way, you’re all staring at the base form only…” Quinlan spoke up all of a sudden, eyes glinting with nothing but mischief. “Don’t make the mistake of thinking I’m just a base-form nobody any longer.”
The women looked at each other upon hearing his infuriatingly smug words, frowns forming on their temples.
“Base form?” Ayame sighed with defeat, already knowing he wouldn’t be so smug if he had nothing to show for it.
Aurora began whispering with sheer disbelief, “You mean there’s more?”
Iris squinted her eyes into fiery slits as she hissed, “Of course there’s more when it comes to this smug bastard…”
Quinlan just grinned…
And activated his new Harbinger of Aeons class’s ability, [Elemental Stance: Flame].
The shift was instant.
A crackling sound filled the air. His aura burst outward in a controlled ignition with embers dancing along the length of his skin. Red-orange trails wrapped his limbs that looked like coiling dragons, heat blooming around him but not burning; no. This was a fire of command, not destruction.
Vex’s smile widened mid-kiss, face flushed from heat. Heat that could be felt on her outer skin, but also deep inside her chest. Blossom, who clung to his back with her tail wagging, let out a pleased “Mrrr~” and rubbed her cheek into the crook of his neck.
Instead of feeling threatened by the arrival of fire on their skin, the two women felt safer than ever in his embrace.
Cradled not by flame, but by a man who had bent flame to his will and now wore it as easily as a robe.
A small flash updated his system window for all to see.
[Elemental Stance: Flame — Active]
Strength: +50
Damage dealt: +25%
Seraphiel took one look and immediately burst into laughter.
Not polite laughter.
Not forced disbelief.
But a full, melodic, thigh-slapping, head-tilting cackle of a woman who had long since abandoned logic when it came to the man she loved.
“You just got another five levels worth of stats!!” she howled between breaths, smacking her juicy thighs with unrestrained glee.
Ayame groaned, Aurora whispered “so unfair” under her breath, with a happy smile on her lips, and Lucille just sighed with a knowing smirk, arms crossed beneath her cleavage.
Quinlan’s smile grew broader at the adorable reactions of his girls, but he had two more important things to get to before he could forget himself in their tender embrace. So, he opened a new [Master’s Link] connection.
<Kitsara.>
There was a pause. Then came a delighted screech from his one and only awesome foxkin lover.
<Quin!!>
She practically howled through the link, her voice bursting with unfiltered joy and energy. A heartbeat later, a portal shimmered into existence.
Out dashed Kitsara, her three tails flaring behind her, her delicate ears twitching with anticipation. She made it halfway across the clearing before pausing.
“…Oh wow,” she muttered.
Her eyes scanned the sight in front of her. Vex was latched onto Quinlan’s front like a passionate succubus, kissing him as if her life itself depended on the connection.
“Well… you’re certainly busy,” the fox woman purred.
In response, Quinlan’s flaming hand reached down with a resounding *SMACK!*
The impact of palm meeting Vex’s perky rear echoed through the stronghold. Vex yelped, finally breaking the kiss. She blinked up at him, lips glossy, eyes starry.
“I’m a man with many amazing lovers. You know that, Vex,” he reasoned with a lopsided grin that carried the amusement of a man used to—and loving the—chaos often present in his harem.
His elemental aura flared as he turned to glance between Vex, Blossom, and the others gathering as he declared for all to hear.
“There’s no queen bee in our family. Everyone is equal.”
Vex scoffed. “Tch… how annoying…”
Then, despite being a 200-year-old veteran combatant, she showed the restraint of a starving kid as she tried to dive in again for a third kiss, full of renewed hunger, ignoring everything he’d just said. In one ear, out the other.
But Quinlan raised a finger to her lips.
And Vex, determined to ignore his declaration of equality and kiss him anyway, immediately tried to push through it.
She scrunched her face up in the most dramatic pout imaginable and leaned in, lips pursed like a missile targeting her soulmate’s mouth, but his finger didn’t budge.
“Mnngh!” she whimpered, pushing harder, her cheek squishing adorably as she tried to overpower his unyielding finger. “Hhnnnn! C’monnnn!”
She placed both hands on his arms that stood between her and the chance to resume kissing her beloved, and gave a mighty push with all her might…
And moved it exactly zero inches out of the way.
Quinlan arched a brow, amused beyond measure.
Vex’s eyes watered in frustration as she stared at the barrier in front of her, and she let out a tiny, desperate growl, like a puppy denied a treat.
“Stupid power-up… You were perfect already, I would’ve protected you myself! There’s no need to become so strong!!” she grumbled under her breath, nose scrunched like she was personally offended by how immovable her man had become.
But her sparkling eyes, the heat in her cheeks, and the way she leaned into his hand all told a different story.
She was loving every second of it.
Quinlan chuckled, finally removing the finger and instead leaning in to kiss the top of her head.
“Good girl.”
Quinlan dropped Vex to her feet, turning his attention toward Kitsara.
His arms parted wide.
And the foxkin didn’t hesitate for even a second.
With a blur of motion and a delighted, feminine squeal, the three-tailed woman launched herself at him, nearly knocking the air from his lungs as she crashed into his chest. Her legs wrapped tight around his waist, her claws digging into his back just enough to make him feel it, and her tails coiled eagerly around his flaming body, stroking his skin with unfiltered glee.
“Quinlan Elysiar! I need you to ravage me!” she declared, panting with heavy breaths into his neck. “Ravage me until I can’t remember my name and move my legs for the next century!”
The clearing went very quiet.
“…She’s oozing,” Blossom muttered dryly from behind. “She reminds Blossom of the stench of a brothel.”
Kitsara didn’t so much as blink at the jab; she only pressed her cheek tighter to Quinlan’s chest, inhaling like a madwoman.
Quinlan threw his head back and laughed, full and rich.
He seized Kitsara’s chin with one hand and kissed her—fierce, fiery, possessive—welcoming her back into the fold with all the dominance a Primordial man surrounded by needy wives should have.
But soon, Quinlan did the last thing he had to do before he could let loose fully, and his expression shifted instantly.
His amusement faded.
And then his brows furrowed.
Hard.
The four elements swirling in his irises—wind, water, earth, flame—froze for a fraction of a heartbeat…
Before flame erupted outward, devouring the other elements in an instant.
His eyes became pure fire.
Every woman fell silent.
Something had changed.
Something had angered him.
