Chapter 974: Aptitude Tests

As the crowd went from astonishment to numbness, they watched Xu Feng and Carmen automatically qualify for the last round and were permitted to inspect the trial.

"The two of you passed, but due to the limitation, I can't allow you access until the end," Nicholas explained in a somewhat helpless manner. Even though he had the authority to pass people, he couldn't grant them advance entry.

"There's no need to worry about it, Elder Nicholas. Everything must be according to the rules." Xu Feng lightly said.

Nodding, Nicholas retrieved two seats for them as he excused himself to guide the remaining trial contenders.

"Is this actually for real?"

"How did two external force players gain such privilege?"

"Floral Witch really knows how to recruit people."

"CarnageBound made a fool out of himself this time."

The crowd muttered among themselves. Most of them either talked about Floral Witch or CarnageBound.

The incident of the Malefic Order Guild traversing to another plane to ambush an upstart guild was long known to them. And now that this so-called upstart guild managed to one-up them all, everyone started to realize they could no longer underestimate this seemingly upstart guild.

Aside from being the first guild to construct a town, they even managed to gain leverage in a trial that the majority of their Super Guilds strived to succeed in.

Their eyes became wary, and some of them even showed a faint sign of hostility, clearly hoping to eliminate such a threat.

"Guild Leader, don't you think their hostility is too obvious?" From afar, Carmen could sense some of the gazes in the crowd. She found it hard to believe people of their caliber couldn't restrain or suppress their emotions whatsoever.

"They're doing this on purpose." Xu Feng calmly responded.

"Without sufficient power, to gain such a privilege was the equivalent of owning wealth without the capability to protect it. They want to overwhelm us with their clear, hostile behavior, but there's no need to pay attention to them."

"I understand."

Carmen knew that their action had definitely caused them to become the target of everyone. However, even if they didn't, she was positive they would have made a move against them anyway.

After all, everyone who passed the third round was a part of the Super Guild. There were no more external force players recruited by them in the area.

The so-called recruitment was merely a farce and without any ability to record or stream due to the trial's restriction, the external force players could only suck it up and admit their defeat.

Without any concrete evidence, they would never be able to successfully accuse the Super Guild of foul play.

To the outside world, it would only appear that the external force players were incompetent and became salty if they were to accuse the Super Guild players.

'If I'm going to rope in allies, I need to demonstrate our capability. It's time to end the beginning phase.' Xu Feng thought to himself. Having endured and constructed the current foundation, he was ready to move on to the next phase of his grand plan.

There was still one big shot in the Divine World that needed to be eliminated—the one who would soon annex the Reaver Guild, Illuminati.

The Illuminati was a fearsome organization, and till date, Xu Feng still didn't dare to extend his reach against them.

Time went by, and Nicholas had already begun to give out a set of aptitude tests of all kinds to the remaining 18 players.

"For the first aptitude, we will test one's willpower. If your willpower is inadequate, then you're not fit to enter the Hall of Resonance." Nicholas declared and continued.

"The second aptitude test will check one's reaction time in the face of an unexpected crisis. As for what it is, that is obviously out of your reach."

"The third aptitude test is one's memorization ability. We believe only geniuses and talented individuals with a superior mindset could achieve great breakthroughs."

"The fourth aptitude tests one's character. Whether you are a genius or a talented individual who passed the previous aptitude tests. If one's character is terrible, then we have no need for them."

"The fifth aptitude test is teamwork. Although we believe individual capability is important, teamwork among others is equally important. Depending on the passing rate, I would then construct a team or a group."

"Lastly, the final aptitude test is one combat experience. In the Divine World, strength is still highly prioritized, and without any combat experience, you might as well just stay at home."

Once Nicholas finished his announcement, he glanced at the crowd and asked if there were any questions. The crowd remained silent and still. They didn't dare to raise any questions because asking them would only paint them in a bad light.

'If we ask questions, then isn't our willpower extremely weak?'

That was their mindset.

Willpower was intangible, but it was still easily calculated. As long as one's willpower was strong, they would face the obstacles head on with or without any knowledge.

While the crowd was ready to receive the challenge, Carmen, on the other hand, found the so-called aptitude test to be very familiar.

"Why does this sound like the previous dungeon we did?" She knit her brows and muttered. Each of the aptitude tests that Nicholas announced was nearly identical to the Testimony Of Will secret dungeon, where they were required to gather 6 different types of wills.

"It's not that it sounds like the previous dungeon, but rather a complete mimic of the secret dungeon." Xu Feng said softly. No wonder there was an Honor of Glory list at the end of their completion. That secret dungeon was a branch off from this particular trial.

Such a coincidence was truly unfathomable.

But Xu Feng refused to believe something like a coincidence. Instead, he glanced at Carmen and realized her luck was simply out of this world.

The secret dungeon was discovered by her, that too in an extremely timely manner. Not too late but not too early either. Just enough time for them to complete it before coming to the Northern Plane to attend to this trial.

'She has to be the protagonist. And I'm enjoying her protagonist's luck.' Xu Feng concluded silently, his thoughts heavily reinforced this time.
