Their predicament was a result of their own negligence and overconfidence. Convinced that no one would locate them, they had let their guard down, becoming unsuspecting victims of Qiao Xuan’s plot.
They acknowledged that a touch more vigilance would have averted this calamity.
Initially deeming the task straightforward, they had instead bungled it entirely. Their survival now hinged on the mercy of the other party.
What course of action should they take?
