“Tsk. I’m bored. Is there really nothing we can do right now? Where are the women? Aren’t a lot of women selling themselves for some food? Why can’t we taste them? Only the higher-ups.” A man kicked the trash can on his right while gritting his teeth.
“Hahaha. At the very least, we can still eat. If we don’t join this gang, we won’t be able to fill up our bellies. I’m sure that those people are eating to the fullest at their mansions. We should have overthrown them and gotten everything from them.” Another man beside him laughed.
They both looked at each other as if they had a clash in their opinions.
However, a kid suddenly bumped into their legs and sneaked past them.
“Ouch!” The kid fell to the ground.
“What the hell are you doing? Do you use your eyes while walking?” The first man snarled while turning around.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” The kid looked pitiful, even holding his belly as if he was too hungry to even see anything.
He hurriedly lowered his head multiple times before going back up, ready to scram from their sight.
However, the second man noticed something. “Stop, kid.”
The kid halted his steps before warily looking at them.
“Aren’t you one of the kids who steal in the west?”
“Huh?!” The other guy raised his eyebrows and checked his pocket, noticing his money was missing. “Wait. You… You stole my money!”
The kid panicked and hurriedly ran away.
Both of them were startled and immediately chased after him. “You thief. Stop right now!”
“I’m going to kill you, brat!” Read new adventures at My Virtual Library Empire
The two guys did their best to run after the kid but had a hard time catching up to him.
The boy was not only fast but also agile. He turned left and right, as if using the turns to lose them.
“Stop right now or I will kill you when I catch you, brat!”
The harder it was for them to catch the kid, the more furious they were. However, the boy was running for his dear life.
“There aren’t any turns anymore!” The two adults noticed there wasn’t anything the kid could use to escape. They were faster in sprinting straight, so they hurriedly closed the distance between them.
It was at this time a male figure covered in a cloak walked from the turn several meters ahead.
When they were about to catch up to the boy, the latter looped around this person as if trying to let them crash into this person.
“Get away! You bastard.”
“Don’t get in our way!”
The two guys raised their voices. The person responded like a clueless guy. He slightly tilted his body toward them and took a step back, as if he was shocked.
But because he couldn’t get away in time, the two guys raised their hands, trying to shove this guy away.
It was at this moment that the mysterious person raised his hands. He avoided the two hands and grasped their necks at the same time. After that, there was a flash of ena coming out of the back of their necks, leaving behind a hole in their lung.
“Gah!” They spat a mouthful of blood in shock, but they couldn’t do anything after their necks were destroyed.
This mysterious person was none other than Nathan. He glanced at the bloodstained ground and used his foot to mix around the dirt to hide the blood. After that, he raised his head, looking at the kid who had stopped after passing Nathan.
“Good work. Are you alright? Any injuries?”
The kid shook his head.
“Good. Can you do it again? We’ll repeat it multiple times and take care of these big bad guys.”
The kid nodded. Although he was a bit hesitant, he returned to where he came from to bring several more people.
Once he left, Nathan dragged the two men to the door on the left and opened it with his foot, finding three more kids hidden inside.
He coldly tossed the two bodies to the floor while saying, “These are the first two. Unfortunately, they’re dead, so store them away. I’ll dispose of them once we’re done with them.”
The three kids acknowledged his order, although they looked afraid.
Nathan ignored their feelings and exited the building.
He couldn’t really afford to catch them alive, considering the enemies might know that they had worked together with the government to deal with them. At the same time, killing these people left a bad taste in his mouth.
Some of them might be thugs that had done numerous unforgivable things. Some might be forced to join to survive.
Unless he could identify their reason, he had no choice but to attack them, assuming the former was their reason.
Once Nathan came out, he couldn’t help but mutter, “Then again, I might have done a lot of unforgivable things to others as well… whether I realize it or not. But this is not the reason for me to stop.”
Nathan took a deep breath to calm down and prepare himself for the next targets.
Unlike Nathan, Flora didn’t have to show herself.
There was another kid running from the thugs in her direction. The kid couldn’t help but wonder where the help they were talking about was. After all, he had brought them to the designated place.
“You won’t get away, brat!” One of the thugs managed to catch up to him. As he was about to grasp him, a magic circle appeared on his foot.
“Huh?!” The yellow flash from the magic circle took everyone’s attention as they lowered their heads.
Their hearts sank, but before they could do anything, the magic circle was activated, releasing a spark of lightning from the ground and electrocuting them.
“Gah!” The two guys were knocked out immediately. One of them died while the other suffered severe injuries to the point where he might not be able to get up anymore.
They dropped to the ground, leaving the kid speechless.
“Good work.” Flora’s voice echoed from the side as the kid found her behind the window. “I will take care of them here, so can you bring more people?”
The kid nodded furiously before running back. Meanwhile, several other kids emerged from the building and dragged these people inside while Flora renewed her magic circle.
