After Dane, Nathan continued with Lavi. As expected, Asmodeus was the one taking care of her this time, as her transformation was similar to Dane’s, just in a different color.
Once he was done with Sera’s familiars, Nathan moved on to Flora’s familiars. Unlike Sera, who prepared two items for each familiar, Flora only brought out one item for each familiar.
Even though each item was better than the quality of Sera’s item, the quality still couldn’t defeat the quantity. As a result, she was the one contributing the most to the 200,000 ena inside the crystal.
Nathan proceeded according to the original plan. He first treated Flora’s plant spirit before the lightning spirit. After all, the latter was Flora’s lifebound familiar.
This was the first time Nathan handled a lifebound familiar, so he and Charlotte were worried. Fortunately, the process itself didn’t have any difference from the normal one.
However, there was one advantage that the lifebound familiar had. The moment Elthor evolved to a great spirit, Flora received a portion of his strength.
That was right. Because they were linked, with the elemental source in Elthor’s body growing stronger, Flora also received the same blessing.
Just with this fact alone, the Soul Contract had been elevated in value. After all, there were a lot of summoners who were not careful when choosing their lifebound familiar, resulting in them being unable to evolve their lifebound familiar and ultimately making their progress stagnant.
If Nathan could help them this way, those people could grow even stronger. Hence, they had to protect the secret carefully.
“Huu…” Nathan let out a long sigh of relief. “It seems we’re done.”
“Yes.” Charlotte nodded in agreement. “You’ve worked hard.”
“Ehm. Though, I didn’t expect the benefit Flora got.”
“Indeed. However, please don’t exert yourself too much just because it’s within your grasp. There are a lot of people who end up ruining themselves because of their own greed.”
“I know.” Nathan waved his hand.
“Let’s see… There are only 27,193 ena left within the crystal. It doesn’t seem like we have to add more.”
“Yeah.” Nathan asked, “Do you get the data you want?”
“Yeah. There’s something I’m curious about, so I will study it and tell you once I’m done. For now, there’s no harm in your body.”
“That’s great.” Nathan nodded. “Now that I think about it, do you know about an incomplete summon?”
“Incomplete summon?” Charlotte frowned. “Are you talking about an interrupted summons where one familiar doesn’t get fully summoned to this world? They are usually lacking something. It’s not their body part, but more like something they possess, like weapons, armor, and other things.”
“Yeah. That one.”
“Yes, I’m aware of it. It’s usually caused because of a faulty summoning circle. But there are also times when summoners conduct the ritual in not a safe area where they have to interrupt the first manifestation of their familiar. Is there something wrong?”
“Is there any way to complete that faulty summons?” Nathan asked.
Charlotte thought for a moment. “If I have to say, then yes. There is a method to fix it. However, it ends up getting treated as an independent summon. And you also need one more thing to complete it. This is the basic requirement.”
“That is…”
“That familiar has to be a lifebound familiar. There is one big reason for this. The summoning circle will be different. Unlike the normal summoning circle that acts like a bridge, this one is similar to the teleportation circle.
“Hence, there’s a need to be a connection between the familiar and that missing part. However, that alone is not enough. In the end, it’s still a summoning circle, so there’s a need to be a beacon that leads to this world, which is the summoner itself.
“You can think of it as the familiar being the beacon of their old world while the human is the beacon of this world. And the one linking them is the lifebound link. Why do you ask?”
Nathan thought for a moment. Considering Noelle wanted to complete the summoning of her lifebound familiar and that she had just gotten a lot of cores from the previous expedition, it shouldn’t be weird for him to suggest this idea.
Nathan whispered, explaining Noelle’s situation. “Do you think you can help with that?”
“I haven’t seen her familiar, but it doesn’t really matter. If she wants to do it, I can help her.”
Nathan nodded. “Please.”
“I understand. I will meet her later.”
“Thanks. It feels like you have been helping me a lot these days.” Nathan smiled wryly.
“Oh my. I’m just glad that I can witness and gather data regarding the most mysterious power in this world, the Innate Ability. But if you want to reward me…” Charlotte smiled seductively while leaning her body on Nathan’s chest while puffing her chest as though she was trying to make Nathan see her cleavage. “…how about your body?”
“Isn’t that something you only say when I can’t pay you any other way?” Nathan sighed.
“Hehehe. That’s the first option. If you have my body and heart, you don’t need anything else. Money, influence, and reputation are shared after all.”
Nathan chuckled. “Sorry. It’s not the time yet.”
“I understand that as well. I’m just teasing you.” Charlotte patted Nathan’s chest. “In that case, I will just keep it in your tabs. You’re going to be responsible for treating a marriage proposal as a joke in our first meeting.”
Nathan could only scratch the back of his head. Before he could say another word, he suddenly heard Dane’s groan, which grabbed everyone’s attention.
“Aaahhh!” Dane screamed all of a sudden as a pair of wings emerged from his back, ripping his clothes apart.
“!!!”
They couldn’t help but widen their eyes, as this was the first time they saw how a four-winged angel was born.
Right after him, Lavi also screamed as the burst of her energy was a bit stronger than Dane’s as a pair of black wings appeared underneath her original wings.
The two spirits still needed a bit longer, as their evolution process was different from these two.
After witnessing their evolution, Charlotte shifted the topic back. “It appears we will be busy with cleaning this up. Let’s talk about it later.”
“Yeah.”
