The Martial Unity

Chapter 3071: The Unfolding Prophecy

Chapter 3071: The Unfolding Prophecy

The unification of human civilization, by coercion or otherwise, had finally occurred.

The Panamic Alliance rapidly centralized intelligence apparatuses of human civilization into a single True World Intelligence Organization with powerful incentives and exclusive partnership contracts with various intelligence organizations like the Shadow Guild and even the Beggar’s Sect.

Simultaneously, the preparations of the economic corridor network had rapidly begun as the Elder Tree rapidly accelerated material acquisition and the best and brightest engineers of human civilization led by the Esoterist and the Chairman Bradt rapidly worked together to finalize the plans of what take years to plan by relying on the Kandrian Manifold to accelerate their productivity.

In the Kandrian Empire, the Martial Sages of human civilization made themselves at home indulging in its extensive training infrastructure while they also remained on standby for any new threat that were to emerge from the true world. Their presence in the Kandrian Empire along with the World Bridge drastically increased the probability of survival of the Panama Continent.

And yet, that didn’t mean that all was good.

The absence of information and intelligence was the biggest issue at the moment.

The Kandrian Empire and the Esocline Federation were trying their best to extract any and all information from the entity, but it still took time to decode every ounce of not just its language but also the technology in the alien aircraft that stored priceless data.

“That is why we need your help…” Emperor Rael spoke with a more measured tone. “…Mother.”

Matriarch Nephi’s expression crumpled with great fury and anger. “DO NOT CALL ME THAT!”

Her voice shook with wrath.

The world shook with her wrath.

RUMBLE…

The emotions of a Martial Sage were a source of seismic radiation with how much power they harbored within their beings.

The atmosphere grew electric.

The air tingled with peril.

And yet, the Emperor of Harmony gazed at her with a knowing expression of severity.

She wasn’t done, however.

“YOU HAVE SOME NERVE OF DARING TO ASK FOR MY HELP AFTER LETTING MY PEOPLE DIE!” She bellowed at him with murderous anger, uncaring for Sage Sayfeel’s warning glance. “YOU HAVE SOME NERVE OF ASKING ME FOR HELP AFTER LETTING MY DAUGHTER DIE!”

The Emperor of Harmony winced at the latter.

It had been three-quarters of a century since Miriam passed away after giving birth to Rui.

And yet, she still harbored resentment against the Emperor of Harmony for letting her daughter die in childbirth despite being the Emperor of the Kandrian Empire. It was a resentment that was amplified with the fresh grief, anger, and hatred from the death of all but one Martial Master of the Silas Clan from the betrayal of Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Every ounce of her wrath and rage was justified.

He could only lower his head in grave shame, enduring her tirade of frustration and resentment.

“YOU PROMISED ME WE WOULD BE SAFE!” She roared. “YOU PROMISED WE WOULD NEVER FACE BEING TARGETED IF WE SETTLED IN THE KANDRIAN EMPIRE!”

Technically, that was Rui.

But it was clear that the grieving older woman didn’t have the heart to blame her grandson for the tragic death of Martial Masters of the Silas Clan. She was much more content venting her resentments and frustrations upon the Emperor of Harmony.

He knew that she knew what she was doing, given that she had Enlightenment of Self, but evidently, she didn’t care about the technicalities.

“Matriarch Nephi Deborah Silas,” the Emperor of Harmony began with a more formal tone. “As the Emperor of the Kandrian Empire…”

He took the magnificent Kandrian Crown off his head, placing it before him, before doing something that shocked not just the Matriarch but also his Royal Secretary and Sage Sayfeel.

He bowed his head before the matriarch.

Not perfunctorily or lightly.

He bowed deeply.

“I apologize to you as one leader to another for violating the promise of safety and sanctity upon your people.”

His head rose as a maelstrom of emotion lingered in the depths of his golden eyes.

Grief.

Regret.

Sorrow.

“…And I apologize to you as son-in-law to mother,” he continued with a shaky tone. “For failing to save your daughter.”

The Matriarch remained silent, breathing unsteadily, overwhelmed by emotion.

She gazed deep into his eyes, detecting yet another emotion within the depths of his royal golden eyes.

Vengeance.

“I swear to you as I swore to the sole surviving Master of the Silas Clan,” the Emperor of Harmony continued. “I swear to you that Tokugawa Ieyasu will be punished for his crime and betrayal.”

“I want his head!” She hissed as her eyes blazed with fury and hatred. “I want his head before the pyres of our fallen clansmen!”

The air boiled with peril.

The atmosphere was electric with vengeance.

“Then… I swear to oblige.”

The Emperor of Harmony swore yet another oath.

The more oaths he swore, the greater the burden he felt bearing down on him.

And yet, he resolved to bear the weight of the world if he had to.

Matriarch Nephi gazed at him with severe intensity, before closing her eyes and exhaling deeply and shakily.

“I forgive you…” she continued with a voice that was nothing short of a whisper. “And I believe you. I accept that oath.”

Her intense eyes remained fixed on his.

“Be sure to keep your word this time.”

The Emperor of Harmony nodded. “I will. But for now…”

His eyes sharpened with a solemn light. “…we need your power, mother. We need you to peer into the future. Your power and the power of your fellow Sage of the Silas Clan, and that of the other prophetic Martial Artists of your clan. We need you to help us learn of the next point of contact.”

She gazed at him with profound seriousness before closing her eyes.

“Very well then.”

She activated her Realms as her Martial Heart, Mind, and Soul blazed with power, fueling the extraordinary Eye of Prophecy, allowing her to peer into the depths of the future, gritting her teeth as she struggled to expand her scope across the entire continent.

She beheld the future.

She froze.

Her expression grew pale.

Her fight-or-flight instinct kicked in as she broke into a cold sweat.

Her eyes opened, widening with shock as her breathing grew alarmed.

The air grew electric while the Emperor of Harmony’s expression grew grave.

The tone of the mood between them darkened with peril.

The atmosphere curdled with danger.

“What did you see?” he urged her. “When is the next attack? When does the invasion begin?”

She turned him towards him with a horrified expression.

A single shaking whisper escaped her.

“Now.”

RUMBLE

The world shook.

The world shook ominously as the future unfolded.
