Donghai Longzi flew back toward the True Dragon Realm after pretending to be unwilling to retreat. The humans didn’t know of his status as Tianyi’s clone, so many of them rushed forward to slay him before he could recover. If it was from the Immortal Court, he would hold the power back behind his attack without raising any suspicions. If they were from the Numinous Sword Sect? Well, they could only count their blessings and pray that they got lucky.
The closer he came to the True Dragon Realm, the more heavy his heart felt. Along the way, Donghai Longzi’s gaze connected with Honglin’s eyes. Maybe it was a coincidence, or perhaps it was fate. He didn’t know.
He couldn’t remember when Honglin stopped being clingy, but it must have been gradual. Although she still pestered him, there was a sense of duty to it. Perhaps war had changed her. If there was one being in the Demon Clan that made him hesitate, it would be Honglin. No, he had not developed romantic feelings toward her but companionship.
Donghai Longzi shook his head. It was finally time to play his role as an undercover agent.
The Crystal Palace shone brilliantly on the seabed, untouched by the terrible war in the void. A somber air still filled the palace halls. Donghai Longzi was just one of many dragons that had to retreat from the front lines due to sustained injuries.
“East Sea Dragon King, how is the situation?” one demon king asked.
“We are at a disadvantage,” Donghai Longzi said. He did not hide it. The demons present did not have such weak hearts that they needed to be fooled.
The demon king sighed. “Alas, the humans are too powerful. We missed the best time at the end of the primordial era.”
After shaking his head, the demon king laid down once more and focused on recuperating. This was only a brief respite. After he healed, he would immediately join the battle again. One of the few advantages the Demon Clan had was their home territory. Because of the short distance, they could deliver supplies and heal their combatants much more easily and faster than their enemies.
Donghai Longzi found his spot in the Crystal Palace and started healing. Although his body laid prone, his mind was active. He was communicating with several demon kings and powerful demon lords. It was only less than ten thousand years since the last Divine Beast-Human War instead of the usual one hundred thousand years, so over half of the demons present had experienced war before.Of course, none of them would dare to look down on Donghai Longzi. Although he was their junior and had far less experience, he still reached the Demon Emperor Realm at a fraction of their age.
Donghai Longzi wasn’t chatting with them for the sake of passing time, but to ascertain a piece of information. Because of the critical war and the destruction of the Void Continent, San Jiuling, Xuanwu’s contractor, was tightly protected. Rather than protection, it would be more accurate to call it sealed.
San Jiuling was like a mosquito sealed in amber. Although he would have no danger to his life, he could never escape. And the day his spiritual contract with Xuanwu ended would be the day of his death. The entire Demon Clan wanted to kill him because of how he forcibly entered a spiritual contract with the Black Tortoise. To them, it was a great humiliation for one of the Four Divine Beast to form a spiritual contract with a human.
Just to be safe, few people knew the location of San Jiuling, even Donghai Longzi. Donghai Longzi didn’t have the ability to deduce San Jiuling’s location, but he could gather clues and pass them to Tianyi. Tianyi also didn’t have the ability, but Minister Everpast, who comprehended the Law of Causality, could.
Not only that, Minister Everpast was directly fighting Xuanwu and could sense the lines of causality connected to him, so it was much easier. It still took a few days, but he finally deduced San Jiuling’s location and relayed to Tianyi, who told Donghai Longzi.
When Donghai Longzi got the information, he couldn’t help but frown.
San Jiuling’s location was at the core of the Crystal Palace. Even though he had reached the Demon Emperor Realm, he did not have access to that location. Perhaps if more time passed, he would eventually be able to access it, but unlikely. Only the patriarchs and Four Divine Beast could go.
Donghai Longzi closed his eyes. To others, it seemed that he had fallen asleep in order to heal faster. In reality, he had entered the Nine Heavens Universe, and a puppet body took his place. The puppet was made by using parts of his body that he extracted and gave to the Immortal Court to turn into a body double. The puppet only had about ten percent of his strength, and his aura did not match. But because of his injuries, no one would be able to tell as long as it did not take action.
A purple-robed man appeared next to the black dragon puppet. Although he appeared in front of everyone, all the resting demons ignored him, a human. That man was Tianyi. His primary conduit was in the void, battling Demon Emperor Redraco, and this was a second level conduit. Despite only possessing the power of a monarch, Tianyi mastered the Law of Spacetime, so none of the demons could detect his presence hidden by layers of spacetime.
Tianyi walked away and toward the core of the Crystal Palace. Because of the war, the numbers of guards have dwindled, but that didn’t mean Crystal Palace was unprotected. Countless invisible formations covered the Crystal Palace. Demons were not skilled in alchemy, artificing, and formation, but that was only relative. ℞àŊƟ฿Ɛs̈

No matter how untalented a demon was in the three subjects, a demon emperor’s mastery of the three would far outpace an ordinary true immortal as long as they took the time to learn.
Still, Tianyi was more than prepared. His mother was best at formations, and this skill was passed down to him. With his mastery over spacetime, he easily slipped through most of the protection. The deeper he went, the more complicated the formations became, especially ones that dealt with the Law of Space. However, Tianyi’s mastery over spacetime gave him an edge. It was like a three-dimensional being solving a two-dimensional puzzle. The difference wasn’t that exaggerated, but the principle applied nonetheless.
Once he reached the core area, Tianyi’s footsteps halted. He felt a sense of palpitation that he had not felt in a long time. It was akin to a mortal standing in the presence of an immortal. ‘Is there a divinity here?’
When that thought appeared in his mind, Tianyi couldn’t help but become a hundred times more cautious. He hid himself deeper in the layers of spacetime, hoping that it would shield him from the possible divinity’s senses. Still, he could not abandon his mission, even if there was a divinity. Not to mention that his life would not be in danger even if he failed.
Slowly, and far more carefully than before, Tianyi continued on his way toward San Jiuling’s location. It wasn’t that long before he arrived in front of a gate. The gate was crafted out of materials with anti-space measures. Although Tianyi mastered spacetime, it wasn’t to the point that he could ignore the anti-spatial attribute of the gate. Once he tried to pass through, he would be forced to reveal himself.
Tianyi tried to slip through the walls, but he discovered the inside was made of the same material, and that they were linked by a formation. So, if he tried to pass through them, it would be akin to passing through the front gates. After several attempts, Tianyi gave up. He couldn’t sneak in.
Within the Nine Heavens Universe, a miniature sun, orbited by eight equally miniature planets, formed. Despite their tiny size, they harbored a vast amount of energy. Energy that continued to accumulate to a terrifying degree. He raised his palm and aimed it at the walls. Although the walls had the same anti-spatial features, it did not mean the walls had the same durability as the gates.
A hole appeared in Tianyi’s palm, and out shot the Constellation Cessation. It didn’t travel far and struck the wall. What followed was a massive explosion and an extreme increase in heat. The technique bore a hole through the walls, which Tianyi sped into before the Constellation Cessation even ended.
Inside, he saw two pillars connecting the ground and ceiling in the center. Chained between the two was San Jiuling. He seemed fine, but his dark expression spoke otherwise. And even though Tianyi used his Constellation Cessation to break into the room, San Jiuling remained unperturbed. It was as if the area around him was located in a different dimension.
“Xi Tianyi!” San Jiuling roared upon seeing Tianyi.
Because he no longer needed to hide himself, Tianyi stopped concealing himself, which allowed San Jiuling to see him.
San Jiuling hated the Immortal Court and Xi Mengfei. After being taken into the Divine Beast Pseudo System, he was kept like a captive with no freedom of his own. The demon didn’t allow him to cultivate either, so he was stuck in the Seamless Immortal Realm. More than that, they kept him deprived of spiritual qi, purposefully making him weak.
He endured, hoping to become a sovereign, or even a divinity, one day to escape. The humiliation he suffered made him hate anything related to the Immortal Court and Xi Mengfei. As her son, Xi Tianyi got transferred a large amount of hatred from his mother. Even Donghai Longzi, who had saved his life, was hated by him. After all, the life he experienced was worse than death after coming to the Divine Beast Pseudo System.
Originally, he had a chance to escape when the alliance of two hegemonic forces attacked the Void Continent, but that was foiled by Minister Vastlight. His injuries forced him to seek aid from the Demon Clan, which allowed them to capture him again.
Tianyi didn’t care about San Jiuling’s hatred and shot another Constellation Cessation at him. However, once it neared San Jiuling, an invisible force blocked the attack and absorbed the qi, breaking his technique. Tianyi didn’t give up and constantly shot Constellation Cessation from within his inner universe, while his right hand sent a continuous barrage of Stellar Silences.
In less than thirty seconds, cracks appeared on the two pillars. However, Tianyi frowned. He could sense a large amount of demons gathering toward him. After a moment of hesitation, the vast amount of immortal qi of primordial chaos boiled within his body. He was going to self-detonate.
He could detonate when the other demons arrived, but that would increase the risk of San Jiuling not perishing. Even if it was only a small chance, Tianyi didn’t want to take the gamble. As a master of explosions and experienced user of self-detonation, it took less than a second for Tianyi to erupt.
But just as he was going to detonate, a powerful force descended, freezing him. Not just him, but the entire room. The air, the light, even time and space froze.
Tianyi recognized the familiar sensation. ‘A divinity! The Demon Clan has a divinity!’
Thankfully, the force disappeared as soon as it came. Along with a sentence. “Junior Brother, did we not agree to not interfere in this battle between immortals and demons?”
Tianyi recognized that voice. It belonged to the Concealed Divinity. Many thoughts ran through Tianyi’s mind, but it didn’t stop him from accomplishing his mission. In fact, he couldn’t stop it even if he wanted to. He had already started the process of self-detonating. The only reason it stalled was because of the divinity of the Demon Clan’s interference.
An explosion far more powerful and destructive than a Constellation Cessation engulfed the room. San Jiuling didn’t even have a chance to scream as the chaotic energy crashed into him.
In the void, Tianyi’s eyes twitched as what happened to his conduit registered in his mind. His heart turned solemn. He thought that the Demon Clan was nothing after learning about the Concealed Emperor’s true realm, but it seemed that it would not be so easy after all.
Of course, he didn’t let that show. He even slowed his attack on Demon Emperor Redraco and paid attention to Minister Everpast and the Black Tortoise. As he expected, the Black Tortoise’s movement stilled and his vitality swiftly dwindled until only an aura of death emanated from his body.
“Impossible!” Demon Emperor Redraco shouted. There was a sense of despair tinting his words, but Tianyi didn’t care.
“You are the last one,” Tianyi said, his voice plain but chilling. “You should join them.”
And thus, Tianyi renewed his attack with greater intensity.
