Chapter 1844 Determined To Kill
Bang!
Grey's figure slammed into the ground, bouncing off a few times before finally stopping. He stood up slowly, wiping the blood from the side of his mouth. He could feel the taste of blood in his throat, dropping his head, he spat out a mouthful of blood before turning his head with a vicious smile on it. The reason for his smile even after taking a hit from Lord Everard is because the second Eighth stage Sovereign was also killed by his fist. Even with Lord Everard's arrival, he could not stop him from killing the Eighth stage Sovereign.
Lord Everard's expression was extremely gloomy at this point, seeing Grey stand up once again after taking such a blow, he realized that killing Grey is going to be harder than he thought. Grey's smile took him by surprise, turning his head, he was shocked to see a pool of blood by the side.
With widened eyes he exclaimed, "Impossible!"
He was a Ninth stage Sovereign Wind Elementalist, and from his perspective, he arrived in them to stop Grey's attack from hitting the Eighth stage Sovereign. In fact, if he had arrived a quarter of a second late, then he wouldn't have been able to deflect Grey's attack while also sending out such a vicious counterattack.
"I know killing you in this condition is hard, but how will you be able to protect them?" Grey's voice was filled with killing intent. He was incensed! When he was found by Godric's group of four, he did not expect them to have any sort of relationship with the people from the Twilight Faction, if he had known, he would not have stayed in the crowd for too long after identifying these people as friends or allies of the Twilight Faction. Unfortunately he had no idea and stuck around contemplating if he should try to free the Magical Beasts here or not.
Seeing that the group of four and Lord Everard were friends, he opted to trade the treasure for the Magical Beasts. Lord Everard did not share this idea and felt the treasure belonged to him to begin with and even after Grey repeatedly showed some of his abilities in hopes to deter him, the latter was more adamant to kill him.
To be honest, Grey did not kill Stephen when he saw Lord Everard's attack, rather, he knocked him out. Stephen's essence was sealed, so he posed little harm to Grey. But now, he will no longer hold himself back from killing. He knew he could not kill a Ninth stage Sovereign like Lord Everard in a short time if it was a one on one fight, much less under this condition. However, this wasn't the same for the Eighth stage Sovereigns. As long as he is willing to put in the effort and pay a little price, he can kill them like ants. Of course, not all Eighth stage Sovereigns will be this weak in front of Grey. Those top Factions and Families geniuses will not be this helpless in front of Grey.
In order to kill those two Eighth stage Sovereign, Grey made use of both his gravitational force field as well as the use of his icy blue flames mental energy attack which effectively slowed down the thought of both of them thanks to its freezing ability.
Panting, Grey took a deep breath to calm his nerves.
On the other side, Lord Everard was still in a state of shock. He had been getting one shock after another in the short few minutes he had encountered Grey. Facing four Ninth stage Sovereigns and six Eighth stage Sovereigns did not scare this strange young man who was only a Seventh stage Sovereign, on the contrary, he boldly made the first move, and a wise one at that, taking out his biggest obstacle.
'Such an outstanding prodigy. It's a shame he has to die.' Lord Everard calmed himself, regaining the demeanor of an old warrior, indifferent to his companions death while in battle.
"I'll admit I greatly underestimated you. Even after you killed the first two, I still underestimated you." Lord Everard spoke in an indifferent tone, staring down at Grey, he declared coldly, "But this is where it all ends for you."
He rose into the air, and his aura took a drastic change.
Seeing the sudden change, Grey's expression turned serious. He could barely deal with the current Lord Everard. Even though he has managed to kill two people, it is as Lord Everard said, he greatly underestimated Grey which he capitalized on. Since knowing Lord Everard can partially affect the surrounding space, he knew that his odds of winning had sunk further down.
'Void, how's the situation?'
Looking at Lord Everard whose aura was increasingly growing stronger, he frowned and contacted Void internally. There was absolutely no reason for him to fight this long with the group from the Twilight Faction, but the moment Lord Everard tried to force him to stay back, he started plotting on how to take the Magical Beasts away in the process, and he came to a quick answer, teleportation!
A short distance spatial array will be able to send these Magical Beasts a few tens of kilometers away from here. This was Grey's intention and the reason he didn't try to escape after taking out the Eighth stage Sovereign. Lord Everard is difficult to deal with, but if he puts in all his effort, he was certain that he could throw him off within thirty minutes. Of all his abilities, the one he was most confident in was escaping, although he hated running from an opponent, he can not deny the fact that if he was not great at escaping, he would have met his end a long time ago. This case can be used for all Elementalists.
With a plan in mind, Void got to work in creating the array while Grey focused on distracting the group from the Twilight Faction. Grey had successfully dragged them from where the Magical Beasts were confined, but the impact of the battle was still undoubtedly reaching them, luckily their bodies were strong enough to take being hit by the waves of the battle.
'Almost.'
Void's reply came shortly after. Gritting his teeth, Grey knew he had to delay a little longer.
"You, Old man! Aren't you ashamed? An Elder from the great Twilight Faction ganging up on a junior two stages lower than himself. To think you three agreed to help him. Have you no shame?"
Lord Everard's aura had gotten to its peak, at this point, it could almost rival a Peak Sovereign, sneering, he replied, "Kid, shut up and accept your death."
He will not take any more words from Grey. He was already embarrassed as it is that he had to use his full strength while being assisted by three other Ninth stage Sovereigns. Even removing the Ninth stage Sovereigns, he also had two Eighth stage Sovereigns by his side. With all these experts by his side, you'd expect his opponent to be a Peak Sovereign or even an entity stronger than that. His opponent however, is a Seventh stage junior who has managed to kill four Eighth stage Sovereigns while being besieged by experts whose cultivation stages were all higher than his own.
If news of this event were to spread, although a lot of people will be blown away by Grey's shocking strength, the individuals he fought against will naturally all be criticized for their incompetence. This is something Lord Everard himself did to Godric and his group when he learned from the latter that Grey took the treasure and he was unable to stop him from leaving.
He could not bear to continue letting Grey live. The longer Grey lived, the more incompetent they would seem.
"If you don't go all-out and kill him now, I'd like to see how you will be able to continue living knowing he's waiting for revenge." Lord Everard said to Godric and the other two Ninth stage Sovereigns.
The duo were still somewhat holding back, and knowing how tricky Grey was to deal with, he did not want to waste any more time and quickly urged the others to use their full strength. Allowing such an enemy escape is a taboo. What is worse is the fact that they knew that he had the ability to do so if they were careless.
Hearing Lord Everard's words, the trio did not hesitate any longer and unleashed their full strength. They attacked the moment they did this.
From the time Lord Everard's aura reached its peak to when they attacked wasn't even more than a few seconds. It was clear to see how quickly he wanted to end this.
Grey was quickly placed in a much more difficult position, barely able to block each of the four Ninth stage Sovereigns' attacks. Their strength which was close to the Peak of the Sovereign Plane at the moment isn't something he can take head-on right now, especially when he wasn't at his peak condition.
Exchanging over a hundred moves with the four in the span of a few seconds, Grey's condition quickly deteriorated, as multiple bones were broken during the clash.
