Dual Cultivation God Returns
Chapter 785 785: Time together and time apart“Welcome to the family, Teacher”, Lian Zhiqiu spoke, startling Liang Yuhan by standing on the other side of the door to the room as they opened it, “Wei Lan’s preparing the breakfast to celebrate – although its more of a lunch or even something approaching dinner timing-wise – but I wanted to be the first to congratulate you on finally saying goodbye to your maidenhood”
Liang Yuhan’s stunned expression gradually eased into a smile, “My oh my, how sweet of my dear Student to be so caring… I should’ve done the same for you when you took this step after quite some time of beating around the bush as well, my apologies”
“Haha, it’s nice to see so much love and care thrown around, ladies”, Wu Long chuckled, almost physically perceiving sparks between the two.
They both had icy smiles and sharp gazes, but gradually cracks started forming in those masks as the corners of their lips started going up further, and laughter appeared in their eyes as they began giggling.
Wu Long shook his head, beckoning them and as they both got closer to him, wrapping his hands around their waists.
It could be seen from the look in Lian Zhiqiu’s eyes that she was genuinely happy for Liang Yuhan, no matter how much she hid it behind snarky comments and their usual banter.
The three then entered the banquet hall where they were celebrating the day before, now having another excuse to spend a merry time together.
“If I didn’t know how hard everyone here trains and works on improving themselves on a daily basis, I would’ve thought this Dao Family’s always just partying and living a life of indulgence”, Gong Liwei shook her head.
“Haha, I know right? Especially Daoist Wu… it’s hard to grasp how hard he works, especially considering that his mind almost never rests…”, Cai Yin nodded.
Gong Liwei turned a slightly surprised look to her, holding back a gasp as she saw the eyes with which this former princess looked at Wu Long.
But then, as she turned to look in his direction, an uncertain feeling took hold of her.
And then she got scared, or nervous, she was not sure. All she knew was that she didn’t understand it. To shake off this feeling, she decided to slightly pivot the topic, “Haha, though, unless he’s helping his ladies, I’ve never seen him training with a weapon on his own”
“It’s because he doesn’t need to”, Ye Ling who stood not far from them smiled, “His true skill is at a level where his current body, mind, and cultivation cannot handle. And he has to train mostly at that level to make actual progress”
“Eh? Then… he cannot meaningfully train and grow beyond what he achieved in his past life until he reaches his former level…?”, Cai Yin asked with wide eyes.
“No, the limit of his power actually grows day by day”, Ye Ling shook her head with a gentle expression, “The thing is, at his level, there is also no difference between training physically and mental projection, in other words, meditation”
She then added, “And as you mentioned, he has the mental capacity to deeply concentrate on several different tasks simultaneously while doing something else. So at any moment, if he’s not spending time with one or more of us – he likes to give us his sole attention – he’s actually training”
Both Gong Liwei and Cai Yin looked at Ye Ling with bewilderment, having a hard time understanding it, but also having no reason to doubt her words.
Seeing that reaction, Ye Ling decided not to mention the fact that his mental capacity is actually still quite limited at this time, and that each time he advances in cultivation, his ability to ‘split’ his consciousness to do different tasks at the same exact time recovers.

Wu Long now acquired his third distinct bloodline, the bloodline of a very rare type of Spirit Race members, who came into being from an extremely dangerous plant, the Soul-Dimming Nether Vine.
The plant itself has several distinct properties, in that it releases hallucinogenic toxins from the small flowers that bloom on it, creates a unique Spiritual Qi field around it using a small leather bag-looking appendage root, and contains extremely deadly poison in its relatively large for a vine leaves.
The hallucinogens act to confuse and attract the prey, causing it to bite into one of the leaves, mistaking them for food, and dying, after which, the Spiritual Qi field starts draining the corpse of its Spiritual Qi into the appendage root.
Liang Yuhan was at first nervous about him doing so, since his Yang Qi would become poisonous, but as he explained, he was able to avoid that using the Blood Rune.
After all, unlike the previous two bloodlines, he was very familiar with this one, and as he expected, his knowledge of the bloodline manifested in the ability to freely manipulate it with the Blood Rune, solidifying his guess that the ability of the Rune was directly linked with his knowledge, comprehension and experience with a particular bloodline.
All of that, of course did not matter if he consumed a bloodline to enhance another, but this bloodline was too precious to waste like that.
He also funneled her Innate Yin Qi and all of her regular Yin Qi into a separate vortex of Qi in the Spiritual Qi Ring, aiming to eventually create a separate, Nether Core, while refining the poison with the Chaos Refining Body Tempering Art.

There were still a few days until Kwon Qianhong’s plan would start working and producing results, and it would also take a few days for Kai Huoshi to learn the technique and forge the ordered great ruler.
There were also still no signs of the fifth prince’s men. Though by now Wu Long knew for certain that it was not indecisiveness or incompetence, but a cheap trick of mental warfare, ‘forcing’ Wu Long to wait for news.
He knew that it was very likely, that at this very moment Chen Hui was inwardly cursing his direct superiors with every slur in his vocabulary for this stunt, somehow amused at the facial expression he could vividly picture.
In any case, this left Wu Long with some free time.
He already spent most of the time in a few days they were in the city going on dates with his beauties, so they were now in a serious training mode, trying to make the most of their stay in this city with its rich Spiritual Qi.
They were gathered in one of the courtyards of the inn that had a large circular platform exquisitely cut from one giant stone. Those who practiced martial arts trained in the center of the platform one by one or sparred, while the rest and those who were in line to go up on the platform sat in meditative poses in a circle around the platform, on flat natural rocks.
Luo Mingyu, Gong Cui and Lian Zhiqiu created the ideal conditions for meditation and training with the Dao Field, Music Dao, and a Formation.
The latter’s formation also concealed them from any prying eyes, on top of Wu Long’s perimeter of talismans and the inn’s own privacy Formations and Arrays.
This way Yu Huan could take out her Alchemy Furnace without any fear of it being seen.
Fen Baihu sat in her small fox form slightly lazily looking at all of this. She was the only one who was not busy with anything, simply here because she didn’t feel like being alone.
She didn’t notice it, but gradually the time she spent alone decreased, as she increasingly craved being around these humans rather than left to her own devices.
Wu Long, meanwhile, took this time to go on a walk with Cai Yin, who asked for his advice, joined by Yuanfen who was surprisingly stubborn about going along with him for some reason, grabbing onto the sleeve of his robe and not letting go until he gave up and let her come with him. Of course, he didn’t really offer much resistance to the idea, but it still was unusual.
Though she was a complete mystery, it did seem like she wanted to spend a little more time around him though, since lately she mostly spent time around his Dao Family rather than him.
She also didn’t really need to concentrate, train, or meditate, as her every breath consumed massive amounts of Spiritual Qi from the surroundings. In a way, she cultivated and meditated just by existing, idly absorbing the energy of Heaven and Earth. And thus was left with little to nothing to do most of the time.
