Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System
Chapter 2097 - 2097: We Come In Peace—–
“And here we are! Home sweet home… Huh?”
As I walked out of the ship’s interior, reuniting with my family and friends in the deck, I glanced at Charlotte, who looked confused, and so did everyone.
In the distance, there were large distortions in space once more, giant cracks leading to another World, which spread through the coast of Svartalfheim.
The shore seemed sandy and well, like any other, but in the distance, we were able to see the continent’s overall appearance, a rocky, sandy land.
There were patches of vegetation here and there, small forests and lakes, but the landscape was mostly composed of enormous mountains in the distance, mostly made of black, gray, or brown stone, with snowy peaks.
Below the mountains there were usually some small vegetation, but the rest were arid steppes, and sometimes even savannas… it was a beautiful place, and despite how arid and hot it seemed, this was refreshing compared to the perpetually volcanic lands of Muspelheim.
And yet… this wasn’t why we were all shocked, no.
“Is that… a city?” Benladann asked. “What… what is it doing over there?”
“A city?” Yuki asked. “Those huge towers… they’re part of it?”
“What’s going on? Dad?” Benladra asked. “Is that also from another world?”
As my daughter pointed into the distance, what was in front of us was indeed…
A city.
A modern human city, with huge skyscrapers, houses, highways, malls, everything!
It was enormous, covering a large part of the coasts of Svartalfheim.
“It’s a human city… from Earth.” I muttered, flabbergasted.
“Earth?” Kate asked. “That’s the world your soul came from, right daddy?”
“Yeah…” I nodded. “I didn’t want to believe it, I would’ve been content with just Zipangu but… that is indeed a city from Earth.”
“How’s Earth?” asked Yuki.
“Different than Yggdrasil and Zipangu… more… normal, weak,” I said. “But at the same time, it has very smart people that has managed to make the most out of what they have. And created incredible technology that seems like magic… it’s also a world with normal animals and only humans.”
“Wait, there’s no ice giants? Or elves? What about beast people?” Tisha asked.
“No, they are merely fantasy to us,” I explained. “In a world where only humans exist, the races we’ve met in this world are only our fantasy… but now, these people have gotten a rude awakening, that the universe wasn’t truly like they thought… They must be scared, and I don’t really know what they might be going through but-“
“Dad, look!”
However, I was interrumpted by the loud sound of something flying towards us from the skies, my daughter pointing into the skies while smiling.
I became alert, unsheathing Celestia, only to realize it was no monster…
No, it was a…
“An Helicopter?!”
And it was a military one, with two pilots inside, flying very close to our ship made of ice. In the distance I noticed a few jets suddenly flying past us, and then, near the coast, there were tanks and armed soldiers wearing green clothes and helmets.
“Who are you?! Identify yourself! Who are you?!”
And the voice of a human echoed through the speakers attached to the Military Helicopter.
“They’re talking? What’s that?!” Benladra asked, amazed.
She was also from Earth, but she must have died when she didn’t even have the chance to see it all, and so, all of this is alien for her.
“Looks like interesting technology, maybe I could assimilate it.” Kate said with her eyes glowing.
“No, don’t,” I said. “We have to deal with them peacefully if possible.”
“Indeed…” Andromeda nodded. “There’s no reason to fight either way, as long as we can get along and understand each other, it should be alright.”
“As she said,” I nodded, as Charlotte stopped moving the ship and then I looked into the skies. “My name is Drake, I am this world’s Dragon King, I sail to Svartalfheim, the continent you’ve suddenly arrived… I know where you are from, Earth, right?”
“Huh?! You can speak English?! First time we see someone speaking our own language… but you’re no human! What…?!”
The one speaking in the speaker suddenly went silent, as I noticed the two pilots discussing, before they suddenly pointed their weapons at us and…
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Two giant machineguns started shooting at us out of nowhere. I quickly waved my hand, as I felt the hard bullets bounce off my skin with ease, but I didn’t know if it would be the same for everyone, especially Charlotte who was mostly normal, so I quickly raised a barrier with my Aura.
“Enough! Why are you attacking us?! Your weapons are futile against us either way!”
However, they didn’t stop there, as they fired four tracking missiles at us, bombarding us with several consecutive explosions one after another.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
As the smoke dissipated, the barrier remained intact, although I noticed a few cracks…
Wait, what? Cracks?
This shouldn’t be possible, and yet…
That normal human weaponry seemed imbued with something strange, a power.
One unlike Mana or the Essence of Heaven and Earth.
Something that seemed “ordinary” and yet, that power of simply being “ordinary” was what made other things suddenly become weaker as the interacted with it.
How bizarre, is this the power of Earth, a power born from simply being ordinary?
Intriguing.
It is still too weak, however.
And it doesn’t seem able to affect physical beings or attacks either.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
As I was being bombarded by the missiles, I reached the Helicopter, smashing it with my bare hand and cleaving it open into two.
CRAAASH!
“Uwaaagghhh!”
“Shit!”
The two pilots panicked, trying to escape, but I grabbed them with my other hand, they sure were damn small even in my humanoid form.
They quickly took out their guns, shooting at my face, but the bullets bounced off my face.
BOOOM!
At the same time, their helicopter exploded into pieces, falling into the ocean.
The explosion could have killed them, but I used my Aura to protect them.
“Enough! I wanted to talk, not to fight. If you heard me speaking, why did you even attack me?!”
“W-We received direct orders from our base…!”
“Please forgive us, we didn’t want to attack either!”
“Hmph!”
I almost crushed them to death with my bare hand as I grew madder, but I calmed myself, descending back to my ship with them both.
“W-What is this place?”
“A ship made of ice?!”
As they looked around with wonder, they suddenly fell silent and shocked once they saw the people in this ship as well.
“You two will bring me to your city and your leader, I need to have a serious talk with them,” I said. “I promise that we… come in peace.”
“I-In peace…?”
