It was certainly a surprise that a whole human city had appeared in the shores of Svartalfheim, and more so, when we approached the shores, we realized it wasn’t the only one, throughout most of the region, there were several other cities… we counted at least three more, with the arid deserts mixing with another wastelands from Earth.

Seeing how everyone spoke English and had that certain accent, and then the flags in the helicopters, the military men, and the jets, I realized that a piece, or perhaps the whole damn Texas got isekai’d into this continent.

Yeah…

“So where are you from?” Benladra had asked the soldiers, despite being a young girl, she towered above normal humans, making them tremble in fear despite her being very cute.

“T-Texas…”

“Don’t tell her!”

One of the soldiers was terrified and answered any question, while another was still making a brave face, trying to tell him not to speak.

“Texas? Where’s that at?” Benladra asked.

“Is it from Earth too?” Kate asked.

“Yeah it is,” I nodded. “It’s a… state from the United States of America, a country from Earth, a big one that spans almost a whole continent, sharing it with Canada.”

“That monster knows…?”

“You! How do you know so much about our home?!”

“I told you that I came from Earth you dimwits! I literally lived there my whole previous life, I died and reincarnated in this world,” I roared angrily.

“R-Reincarnation is real?”

“Wait… what?!”

They really were having a hard time understanding everything, and I couldn’t blame them anyway, they were just two normal soldiers suddenly thrown into all this mess a few days ago.

“Honestly I am amazed you’ve survived so far; you haven’t encountered monsters?”

“We have… We’ve been fighting for our lives the past few days; we’ve lost large parts of the city and… civilians have died… a lot of them.”

“We’re sheltering them close to our military bases, most of the city in front of you has already been emptied, but we’re constantly checking on survivors.”

“I see, you’ve handled things better than I imagined… have you managed to kill any monsters? Can your weapons fight against magical beings?”

“W-We have… mostly the smaller ones, anything bigger than a tank and we have to deploy missiles, but we only got so many.”

“There were some… enormous ones, we could only run away from those. Not even missiles worked.”

“Some considered using nuclear bombs but… the destruction would be too large; our entire city would be wiped out and it would have been for nothing then.”

“Smart, don’t use those weapons, they’re indeed not worth it,” I nodded. “But don’t worry, I’m here. I’ll quickly wrap things up, take down all the monsters, set a barrier around your cities, and make sure you’re all well. If you’ve got any injured, my daughter here can heal them instantly.” I patted Benladra’s shoulders.

“I’ll help as much as I can! I know you’re going through a lot…” Benladra said with compassionate eyes, the two soldiers felt touched by our kindness, looking down in embarrassment.

“T-Thanks…”

“…”

The fearful soldier thanked us while continuing to stutter all the time, while the angry one seemed to fall silent.

“If what you’re saying is the truth, and that you’ll help us… you want something in exchange, don’t you? There’s no way an alien would go out of their way to save us for nothing other than the kindness out of their hearts, that’s bullshit, and you know it.”

“Hah, I guess I can’t blame you for thinking that way,” I said. “I don’t expect anything in return but I’m quite happy to see humans again, and even if small, a piece of my home… I’ll help you because I can, but I wouldn’t mind eating the sweets and snacks from back home again, it has been a while. Do you have any soda? Maybe some snicker bars would suffice… Oh! Maybe even M&Ms? I have magic that can create food, but I can’t really get the flavors right just from memory.”

The two soldiers looked at me in disbelief, as they burst into laughter.

“You… you’re really from Earth, huh?”

“Okay, fine… you can have all you want. It’s a deal.”

Once we reached the shore, and then stepped into the beach, we met with a large group of soldiers and tanks, pointing their cannons at us.

The two soldiers with us walked towards them with their hands above their heads, and then once they finally got closer, they explained everything to them.

We saw the shocked and weird expressions of the soldiers; it seemed nobody could believe we didn’t intend to harm anybody.

“Dad, why are they so doubtful of us?” Benladra asked.

“Well, in Earth there’s only humans like them, our species don’t exist, so we are naturally scary to them,” I explained to her as literal as possible. “Humans from Earth are naturally afraid of different things and tend to react aggressively against anything “strange”, sometimes immediately trying to destroy it.”

“They don’t sound like great people…” Kate said.

“Yeah…” Yuki nodded. “But I mean, you were a human from that planet too right? So not everyone is bad…”

“Not everyone is bad, yeah,” I nodded. “It just all depends on a lot of factors… But at the end they’re people just like us.”

“I don’t remember much myself from back on Earth, but I do remember always running away… soldiers like them used to chase them,” Benladann sighed.

“Mostly… it was my fault,” Miranda looked down at the floor. “We went through a lot…”

“Yeah, but… well, things are much better now, right?” Benladann asked.

“I guess so…” Miranda nodded. “I just hope they don’t recognize us.”

“Of course they won’t, look at us, do we even look like we used to in our previous lives? You didn’t even have an appearance, you were just a mass of black goo,” Benladann laughed.

“Ah yeah, right…” Miranda nodded, realizing she was worrying for nothing.

The soldiers quickly returned after that heated conversation, walking towards them with four more armed men and also an old man wearing a lot of emblems and medals on his clothes, resembling some kind of figure of authority.

“Greetings, extraterrestrials, I am Seargeant Major Toren Caldwell.”
