Chapter 904: 903 is falling for you more and more

“Sister Ting, are you not feeling well?”

Wen Ran raised her eyes and saw Shen Yuting’s pale face, looking as if she had been struck with grief. She furrowed her brows, her voice carrying a note of concern.

Shen Yuting, hearing this, felt it ironic.

Her hand by her side clenched into a fist. Meeting Wen Ran’s concerned gaze, she suddenly thought Wen Ran to be truly hypocritical. Wen Ran knew full well that she also liked Mo Xiuchen, and her affection for him was no less than Shen Yuting’s, certainly not shorter in duration. Yet here she was, the apparent victor looking down from on high, feigning concern for her.

“I am not unwell.” Her voice was somewhat stiff as she struggled to suppress her emotions, turning to look at Mo Xiuchen, “Mo Xiuchen, congratulations on regaining your memory.”

“Uh-huh.” Mo Xiuchen didn’t even lift his head, his gaze remained fixed on Wen Ran’s face, as if everything and everyone else was of no consequence, merely responding absentmindedly with a grunt out of consideration for Gu Kai’s feelings.

“Cousin, you bandage Mo Xiuchen. I’ll be going back first.” Shen Yuting couldn’t stay any longer. After speaking, she didn’t dare linger for another second and turned around, her steps slightly unsteady as she left the hospital room.

After Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng finished their porridge, Luo Haofeng drove her home.

The car wasn’t yet at the Bai Family’s house when, from a distance, Bai Xiaoxiao saw a black sedan parked by the roadside of her family’s villa. The bright headlights shone down, clearly illuminating the license plate number in her view.

Bai Xiaoxiao’s brows gently knitted together, her hands subconsciously crossing in front of her.

“Just stop the car here.”

Her suggestion caused Luo Haofeng to frown, he turned to glance at her, calmly saying, “Xiaoxiao, it’s just a few steps less if you get off at the front door.”

Bai Xiaoxiao opened her mouth but said nothing more. As they spoke, the car had not slowed down, and now, they were only about ten meters from Meng Ke’s car.

Seeing their car approaching, the door of the parked vehicle opened, and Meng Ke stepped out.

Luo Haofeng’s eyes narrowed slightly. The car stopped two meters away from Meng Ke’s car. He turned his gaze towards Bai Xiaoxiao and said softly, “Xiaoxiao, I have a flight at nine tomorrow morning back to City B. I’ll be busy for a while. Once I’ve taken care of things on my end, I’ll give you a call.”

Just now, he had told her that he was going back to take over the family business and to settle things with Qi Meiling. With Mo Xiuchen’s offer from last night to help him, he now had the thought of having her by his side again.

It was just that he feared she might not be willing to wait for him, so he didn’t dare to tell her directly.

Bai Xiaoxiao pulled up a smile, feigning cheerfulness, “I wish you a smooth journey, and I won’t come to see you off tomorrow.”

Bai Xiaoxiao wasn’t clear about the situation in City B, nor did she understand what Luo Haofeng meant by “everything is stable.” The one thing she knew was that Qi Meiling was currently living with the Luo Family, known as Luo Haofeng’s fiancée.

If he truly married Qi Meiling, she would bless him.

Stepping out of the car, Bai Xiaoxiao, upon closing the door, thanked Luo Haofeng, “Thanks for the ride home. Drive safely on your way.”

After speaking, she closed the car door and walked towards Meng Ke, who stood two meters away, in front of his car.

Luo Haofeng pursed his lips slightly, without lingering, he put the car in reverse and drove away swiftly.

“Why are you here?” Bai Xiaoxiao walked up to Meng Ke, asking with a smile.

Meng Ke’s lips curled into a smile, seemingly unbothered by the fact that her ex-boyfriend had brought her home. At least, there was no sign of anger on his face. He looked at Bai Xiaoxiao with a gentle and soft gaze, explaining softly, “You said you hadn’t gotten home yet when you called earlier; I was worried, so I came over to wait for you.”

Bai Xiaoxiao chuckled, “Did you come to wait for me at my home, or outside my door?”

“Heh, it really doesn’t count as waiting at your home, does it? There was no helping it; it was too late, and I was afraid of disturbing your uncle and aunt’s rest. It would be quite embarrassing to get kicked out.”

Meng Ke humorously replied, causing Bai Xiaoxiao to feel somewhat apologetic.

She pressed her lips together and asked, “Now that you’ve seen me, are you going to go inside and disturb them a bit, or can you go home and rest assuredly?”

Meng Ke’s eyes flickered, staring at her beautiful face. Suddenly he sighed and said in a low voice, “Xiaoxiao, I feel like I’m getting fonder of you.”

Bai Xiaoxiao was startled, and the smile on her face froze.

They had been seeing each other for a while, but it was not exactly a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship; they started off just as ordinary friends, occasionally having meals together or watching a movie.

During her month abroad, Meng Ke would call her every few days, asking about how things were going for her there and then tell her about his day or share some interesting stories.

It was always him taking the initiative.

However, he had never said anything so suggestive before. Now, his sudden confession had Bai Xiaoxiao feeling at a loss.

Seeing her stunned, Meng Ke’s eyes dimmed, but he quickly smiled again, “Xiaoxiao, did I frighten you? Just pretend you didn’t hear it then; I don’t want to scare you off. I just couldn’t help but speak my mind just now.”

“Meng Ke, that… ”

“No need to say anything. You must be exhausted today. Hurry home, take a nice shower and get a good night’s sleep. I’ll ask you out for a meal tomorrow,” Meng Ke interrupted what Bai Xiaoxiao was about to say, afraid that she might say something he didn’t want to hear.

Bai Xiaoxiao blinked, wanting to say more, but Meng Ke had already turned and got into his car, waving at her, “Hurry inside; G City is cooling down, and it’s supposed to rain tomorrow. You’re not wearing much; be careful not to catch a cold.”

“Alright, be careful on your way,” Bai Xiaoxiao pulled up a smile, waved back at him, turned around, and walked up to the front door, reaching out to press the entry code.

Kangning Hospital

Gu Kai had just finished re-dressing Mo Xiuchen’s wound when he reassured Wen Ran, “Ranran, don’t worry, Mo Xiuchen’s arm won’t be ruined. It’s just a bit of fresh flesh that’s split open a little. It’s nothing serious.”

“Ah Kai, how can you talk like that? My arm was fine before, but now it hurts a lot. You should tell Ranran that she needs to take care of me meticulously during this time,” Mo Xiuchen glared at Gu Kai with dissatisfaction, but when his gaze shifted back to Wen Ran, a smile couldn’t help but spread across his handsome, charming face.

Gu Kai pretended to gag, “You bleed a little and scare Ranran so much, if I said your arm would be useless, she might insist you stay in the hospital for ten or fifteen days.”

After saying this, he glanced at Wen Ran’s slightly swollen eyes and added, “Mo Xiuchen, now that you’ve regained your memory, be nicer to my sister. If you make her cry again, don’t blame me for being rude to you.”

“Who’s beaten who is not yet certain,” Mo Xiuchen raised his eyebrows, indifferent. During his amnesia, Ah Kai and Wen Jin hadn’t missed the chance to vie for Ranran’s attention. But now that he had his memory back, it was time for him to settle accounts with them; and yet, they dared to provoke him. Really, why are they asking for trouble!
