MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1396 - 1396: A Blessing in Disguise“…”
“Nngh…”
Feeling as if he were floating on clouds for a few seconds after Arcane sent him back to Veldanyr, a wave of pain immediately washed over Valyr the moment he felt his consciousness return to his body.
“Fuck…” Taking in a few deep breaths as he endured the pain wreaking havoc all over, the young man soon let out a slow exhale, eventually sitting upright after feeling like most of the pain had disappeared.
“Are you alright?” Looking around his surroundings for a bit, Valyr soon found Mystia sitting at her usual spot, looking at him with concern written all over her face. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t expecting something like that to happen.”
“Neither was I,” he replied, standing up as he moved closer to where she was.
After that, he gave her an apologetic smile. “Sorry for implicating you, Miss Mystia.”
At those words, the young man recalled how both of them were hit by that sudden wave of terrifying pressure, with Mystia forcing herself to endure it while he lost consciousness because of it.
Of course, now that he knew that the personification of magic herself was behind the pressure the two of them had to endure, Valyr now looked at the situation as if she was the one who lost out the most.
After all, even though he lost the opportunity to transform his mana to Arcana with the elixir, he gained far more in exchange out of it.
Though he had yet to check in detail as to how much his strength had improved thanks to Arcane’s tampering with the elixir, he was certain that the effects would not be any lesser than the full potential of the True Rebirth Pill at the very least.
Not only that, but because of the mishap with the elixir, he now had a far better method to improve his mana even further, giving him the ability to transform his mana into something even better than just mere Arcana.
“Why should you be saying sorry to me?” Mystia faintly shook her head at his apology, her expression slightly guilty. “If anything, I wouldn’t have given you the elixir if I knew this would happen.”
“Then again…” As those words left her mouth, she gave him a scrutinizing look, only for her expression to then turn into a slight grin. “It’s not like the elixir wasn’t effective.”
“Yeah.” Valyr nodded in agreement, moving to a more spacious part of the room to see how much his strength had actually improved.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Moving his body according to a few specific movements in mind, the young man’s eyes soon widened in surprise after noticing that his strength had significantly improved compared to before.
However, the improvement did not only extend to his physical strength alone.
Swoosh!
Shifting his attention towards his spellcasting abilities, Valyr quickly took note of the improved might behind his spells, as well as the decreased cost needed to cast them.
Although he was curious as to how far this improvement extended when it came to his magic-related abilities, he still knew that he was inside someone else’s place, prompting him to restrain himself the moment he obtained a rough answer of his improvement.
“…Color me surprised, Ataraxia.” Heading back to where he previously sat, the young man noticed that Mystia was looking at him in slight shock. “I’ve heard of people being more compatible to certain elixirs compared to others before.”
“But this is the first time I’ve heard of someone being extremely compatible with one.”
Hearing those words, Valyr finally decided to take a look at the notifications he got from the system, being reminded that quite a bit of time had passed since the transformed elixir took effect.
Ding!
Looking at the notifications he received, the young man’s eyes immediately widened in disbelief, his mouth agape as he suppressed the urge to scream out in shock as much as possible.
‘What… the fuck?’
[The Quintessence of the Arcane Concept has taken notice of the potent energy inside you.]

[“Do not abuse this mark,” says the Quintessence of the Arcane Concept.]
[“…Or do. I don’t really have anyone else to talk to lately.”]
Ignoring the last few notifications he’d obtained from the system for the meantime, Valyr’s gaze was undoubtedly focused on the stat boosts he obtained thanks to Arcane’s tampering.
Seeing the lines that talked about his improved affinity with elements and concepts, he decided to test it out, closing his eyes for a bit to ponder over a certain concept that would benefit his player identity.
Swoosh!
‘…Woah.’ Spending only around 10 seconds at most with his eyes closed, the young man swiftly understood how much of a boon Arcane’s gift was, easily coming to the conclusion that it would only be a matter of time if he wanted to comprehend an Intent Seed at his current rank.
And if he were to start comprehending them at Rank 3 instead?
He was certain he’d be able to push all of them to the penultimate stage before a true Intent!
‘While talking with Arcane earlier, I thought consuming the Nascent Rebirth Elixir was a mistake.’ With his curiosity finally satiated, Valyr closed his screen, briefly thinking to the conversation he had while he was ‘unconscious’.
‘But now…’
He inwardly let out a slight chuckle.
‘That elixir has been nothing but a massive blessing in disguise.’
…
After checking the massive number of notifications he got from Arcane’s tampering, Valyr spent a bit more time with Mystia discussing the improved effects of the elixir.
Of course, knowing that the gains he obtained were mostly thanks to Arcane, the young man toned down the figures he told her by a couple notches, which still made the alchemist who originally made the recipe look at him in surprise.
After reminding each other of the agreement both sides would have to fulfill a few months from now, the two eventually parted ways, with Valyr making use of the Mage Guild’s Teleportation Halls to get back to his guild as soon as possible.
Fortunately, although his position in the Mage Guild was significantly lower than his other identity’s position in the Blacksmith Guild, it was still at a position high enough that allowed him to make use of its constructs.
With that, it only took an hour or so for him to return to the Azure Coalition’s territory, immediately being surrounded by a great portion of its members the moment he returned.
“Leader!”
“Guild leader!”
“The big guy’s finally back!”
“…Ah.” Looking at the excited and expectant gazes most of the members were giving him, it did not take long for Valyr to understand what was going on, smiling as he asked the members to give him some space.
Sending a message to the guild’s group chat after that, he then began to distribute the rewards their party got from the world raid amongst the members that participated.
Unsurprisingly, those items attracted and earned the envy and jealousy of some of the members, inwardly wishing that they were the ones who obtained them instead.
Then again, that feeling quickly intensified the moment the members that participated talked about the promise of getting an armor set from him, causing the other members that had yet to accompany Valyr to request for one as well.
In the end, the young man decided to set up a rudimentary merit-based system with the help of Thomas and the others, giving everyone the opportunity to request a strong set of equipment from him with enough points.
Thankfully, that was enough to quell everyone’s excitement, finally giving Valyr the peace he’d been wanting ever since he returned.
“Are you still planning on giving everyone that participated a set of equipment, Valyr?” Making their way to the guild hall, Thomas looked at his friend with curiosity.
“Yeah.” Valyr wryly smiled. “However, it’ll take me a while to procure all of them. If you could tell the others that, I’d appreciate it.”
“Speaking of equipment…” He paused for a bit. “If any of you four want the armor set I got from the world raid, you’re free to do so.”
“…We thought you wanted it?” said Lucques in response, with Thomas and the others nodding in agreement.
“You don’t have to worry about me.” Valyr laughed at that, deciding to bid farewell to the four for the meantime.
“If I can get you guys a set of armor tailored for your classes, then that means I can easily do the same for myself.”
Whoosh!
Entering the secluded area he set aside for himself, the young man immediately let out a long exhale, wryly smiling at the things that happened ever since he returned.
“Who knew being a guild leader would be this exhausting?”
Faintly shaking his head at the thought, he soon sat on the ground, closing his eyes for a bit as he slowly composed himself.
“…Alright.” Opening his eyes a minute later, he then sent a command to the system.
“Time for me to catch up on what I missed.”
