Online Game: I Started with Max Charisma and Caught the Goddess's Eye
Chapter 447 - 447: A Two-Birds-One-Stone PlanAs soon as Luca finished speaking, Fuzzsir quickly nodded in agreement.
“Luca’s right,” he said. “According to the latest intel from Morning Star headquarters, this monster horde is very different from any we’ve seen before.”
He casually handed over another document.
“This is all the information we’ve been able to confirm so far. Some parts of it are still speculation from Morning Star’s field investigators—but only the hypotheses we believe to be close to the truth are included. Any unreliable guesses were left out.”
Donlow and Luca took the document and began reading it carefully.
The more they read, the more serious their expressions became.
The file contained intelligence on the monsters encountered in the smaller waves that had arrived ahead of the main horde. The monsters listed were significantly stronger than those that humans had faced in the past—even when they looked similar in form.
What was even more concerning was the leap in coordination between these monsters compared to previous hordes.
That was the key reason Morning Star had scrambled into a heightened state of alert—even before the main monster horde had arrived.
Watching the change in their expressions, Fuzzsir spoke slowly.
“Now do you understand why I was so desperate to come find you? According to Boss Drumph, the Imperial Capital is about to go into full lockdown mode. We absolutely can’t afford to drag them down. Which means we have no choice but to rely on our own strength to defend Shelter 102.”
Donlow’s face darkened further as she listened.
As the person in charge of Shelter 102, she understood all too well that if the intel in the report proved accurate, then Shelter 102 would be facing a massive crisis.
Even with Luca’s support, she had hoped that Morning Star would at least provide some reinforcements as a safety net.
“Morning Star has powerful forces,” Donlow said casually, trying to sound nonchalant. “It shouldn’t be a problem to spare a few to help out our shelter, right?”
Then, without waiting for Fuzzsir’s reply, she added, “If you can’t make that call, then I’ll just go to the Imperial Capital with Luca and speak to Drumph myself. I’m sure he’ll give me an answer I can accept.”
Her words made the atmosphere suddenly awkward.
Fuzzsir was well aware that Drumph would indeed support Donlow. But if things reached that point, it would create direct friction between the Northern Territory’s Morning Star and the main headquarters.
“I hope you’ll reconsider.”
Fuzzsir spoke with a tone of utmost sincerity.
“The crisis we’re facing this time is truly immense. Every single one of us must give it our all.”
His heartfelt words seemed to have some effect—Donlow’s face revealed a flicker of hesitation.
Just as Fuzzsir thought his persuasion had worked, Luca—who had been silent the whole time—suddenly spoke.
“I think your judgment is right, Donlow,” he said calmly.
“While I believe my strength is considerable, the upcoming wave of the monster horde is also going to be tremendously powerful. I’m not confident I can guarantee the complete safety of Shelter 102 on my own.”
The moment those words left his mouth, Donlow, who had been wavering, immediately firmed up her stance.
“I agree with Luca’s assessment!” she declared.
“Which means our judgment is solid. There’s no room for doubt. You must provide us with sufficient support.”
At that point, Fuzzsir looked like he could cry.
He had been hoping Luca would help him convince Donlow otherwise—but never had he imagined Luca would outright back her up.
In this situation, there was no way Donlow would change her mind now.
Seeing Fuzzsir’s bitter, defeated expression, Luca decided the time was right to reveal his true thoughts.
“Of course, I understand that with the looming monster horde, Morning Star has to concentrate the majority of its forces in the Imperial Capital,” Luca said.
“Even if you wanted to help us, the support you could offer would be quite limited.”
His words gave Fuzzsir a bit of emotional relief, though they left Donlow slightly confused.
Now both of them had no idea what Luca was actually planning.
Under their curious gazes, Luca slowly continued, revealing his plan.
“To make sure we don’t make any critical mistakes when the monster horde arrives, I believe I should go to the Imperial Capital myself and have a proper discussion with your Morning Star members—talk strategy, coordinate our defenses.”
But of course, that wasn’t Luca’s real objective.
Discussing monster horde defense strategies was just a pretense.
His true purpose for heading to the Imperial Capital was twofold.
First, he wanted to investigate the underground area where the Origin Holy Grail was located.
After all, he had recently completed his second awakening and profession change—and even obtained the remains of an Ancient God, containing immense primal power.
He had fulfilled both requirements needed to control the Origin Holy Grail.
So if there were no issues in the underground area where the Origin Holy Grail was located, he would choose to seize control of it immediately.
That would grant him the power to dramatically shift the current balance of the entire situation.
Once the Origin Holy Grail was in his hands, he would have the strength to utterly destroy Zenobia.
His second objective, of course, was to investigate the various factions’ movements within the Imperial Capital.
Luca was well aware that some individuals within Morning Star harbored deep hostility toward him. As for the major families of the Imperial Capital—there was no need to even mention them. Only a very small fraction of those families held any goodwill toward Luca.
Even if those noble houses were largely useless in terms of real power, the vast resources they possessed were nothing to scoff at.
When pooled together, those resources could still pose a significant threat to him.
Fortunately, the proposal Luca made was one that both Donlow and Fuzzsir could accept.
Although Fuzzsir was still a bit hesitant, deep down he had already come to the conclusion that this was the only viable course of action.
After a brief moment of contemplation, he nodded.
“Alright then. If you both agree, I’ll contact my superiors immediately. They should have no objection to you traveling to the Imperial Capital. After all, your strength is already recognized by everyone.”
Fuzzsir’s response brought a satisfied smile to Luca’s face.
“Good. Get in touch with them as soon as possible—I’ll begin preparations right away.”
With that, he turned and walked out of the room.
Donlow followed close behind.
Inside the room, Fuzzsir hurried to establish contact with Drumph.
Meanwhile, Donlow walked behind Luca, quietly turning over his motives in her mind.
She liked to think she understood Luca fairly well—and she certainly didn’t believe he had just openly revealed his true intentions.
“I know you don’t believe what I said back there,” Luca suddenly said, turning to her with a faint smile.
Donlow didn’t respond. She simply waited for him to continue.
“This trip to the Imperial Capital isn’t about discussing how to defend against the monster horde. Honestly, I think Morning Star’s preparations are already excellent.”
“Then what is your goal?”
“My goal is to assess the current state of the Imperial Capital. A lot of people there want me dead. Once the monster horde hits, everything will descend into chaos. I don’t want them using that chaos as cover to make their move against me.”
Luca didn’t share his entire plan with Donlow.
But what he did say was enough to put her lingering doubts to rest.
“You did the right thing! I’ll support you during this trip to the Imperial Capital as well,” Donlow said with a warm smile.
“Then I really appreciate it! Let’s get ready—the approval from the Imperial Capital should come through soon.”
The two quickly split up to begin preparations.
This trip to the Imperial Capital was absolutely critical for Luca, so he had to bring along all his weapons and essential artifacts.
As soon as he returned to his room, the first thing he did was summon Sophia’s soul back into his body.
Sophia immediately sensed the drastic changes in his physical condition. Her voice rang out with excitement.
“You’ve succeeded—completely! After completing your second awakening and profession change, your physical attributes have improved dramatically. And as a result, my condition has also benefited!”
Hearing the excitement in her voice, a faint smile curved at the corner of Luca’s lips.
“You’re right. And I’ve also gained a new class—Copy Master.”
Luca went on to describe in detail the abilities and characteristics of the new profession he had acquired after his second awakening.
Sophia was silent for a moment after listening.
“While this profession might not be ideal for most people,” she said thoughtfully, “I think it’s perfectly suited to you. The enemies you face are incredibly powerful, which means the skills you’ll be able to copy will also be immensely strong.”
Luca nodded. His thoughts aligned perfectly with hers.
The fact that they had come to the same conclusion showed that Luca had already developed a deep understanding of the power system within the Eternal World.
“Alright, there’s no need for us to discuss this further. Whether Copy Master is truly powerful or not will be proven in battle. What matters now is that we’re heading to the Imperial Capital soon. Be ready—there’s a real chance we’ll gain control over the Origin Holy Grail during this trip.”
Luca laid out his plan succinctly.
Naturally, Sophia had no objections. In fact, she had long been eager to seize control of the Origin Holy Grail.
The vast primal power within it might be enough to reconstruct her physical body.
If everything went as she hoped, then once they obtained the Origin Holy Grail, there was a high probability she would be able to act independently once more.
And if that happened, she would finally be able to provide real help to Luca in the battles to come.
Though she could currently assist him in her soul-bound state, the support she offered was limited and largely ineffective—at least from her own perspective, it wasn’t nearly enough.
