With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1071 - 1071: Manipulating prices

The place that Agnus led them was still in the castle.

Not only that, it seemed like it was a place that was in the hidden parts of the castle since they had to go under the ground to reach it. It was a place that didn’t have natural lighting, only torches on the wall which showed how deep it was.

In this room, there were piles and piles of documents.

Looking at them, Lin Fan was able to tell that all of these pieces of paper were filled with words. These were documents that were reports related to the thing that Lin Fan had arranged with the five dungeon cores.

Only when he saw the sheer amount of reports that were here, there was a trace of a bitter smile that appeared on his face.

“What’s wrong? Are you feeling overwhelmed by all of this?”

There was a teasing tone to Haku’s voice as she said this, making it clear that she was enjoying the bitter smile that was on his face.

Lin Fan didn’t bother giving her any attention as he started scanning through the different reports.

While he wasn’t at the same level as Yue Lan or Ming Xin, he was still capable of at least this much.

Rokuko also moved forward to help Lin Fan with this.

Haku couldn’t help frowning when she saw Rokuko going forward to help him. After all, she had been planning on inviting Rokuko to enjoy some desserts while he was stuck looking over these reports.

It was just that Rokuko didn’t plan on abandoning Lin Fan.

Even when she tried to lure her away by having Agnus bring over some of the desserts that she had prepared in a separate room, Rokuko just didn’t seem interested at all…Well, there was a slight bit of interest, but she held it back in the end as she wanted to remain here with Lin Fan.

Though the amount of help that she actually gave wasn’t that much.

Rokuko just wasn’t any help at all in reading the reports since it seemed like she was about to doze off from reading the reports.

The only thing that she was actually able to help with was piling the reports on the side while Lin Fan read over them so that things didn’t get too messy.

In a way, she found her use as his secretary.

When Haku saw Rokuko acting like this, she naturally looked like she was about to explode.

Only there wasn’t anything that she could actually do since there was a happy look on Rokuko’s face while she did this. It was as if she was happy about being helpful to Lin Fan while he did this.

So when Haku turned to look at Lin Fan, it really looked like she wanted to rip him apart to pieces.

If only Rokuko wasn’t here…

After a while, Lin Fan finally looked up at Haku as if he was done reading the reports and he said, “It seems like you’re quite thorough in this matter.”

Haku didn’t say anything as she just crossed her arms and gave a snort.

It seemed that she still hadn’t forgiven him for what Rokuko had done earlier.

But in the end, Lin Fan didn’t seem to care as he continued by saying, “It also seems that your Laver Empire has benefitted quite a bit from this as well.”

Haku gave another snort without saying anything else.

Lin Fan then added, “But there are a few things that you’re missing out on here.”

“Huh?” Haku looked a bit surprised before narrowing her eyes to say, “Do you even know what you’re saying? You don’t know anything about the situation on this continent, so what makes you qualified to say this?”

Agnus couldn’t help shaking her head with a sigh before looking like she was about to say something on Haku’s behalf, but Lin Fan stopped her by raising his hand. He just looked at her to show that he understood before turning back to look at Haku.

When Haku saw him looking like this she couldn’t help the trace of anger that appeared in her eyes.

After all, it was as if she was being treated like some kind of child.

Lin Fan stopped her from saying anything by suddenly saying, “In this place.” He raised a report before continuing, “Instead of simply using the monsters of the dungeon to create a stir in the forest that cuts off the trading routes, you could have used the monsters to harm the local products.”

Haku deeply knitted her brows once she heard this.

She no longer looked like a child that was throwing a tantrum, but rather she was releasing her full pressure as an empress.

“Do you know what that would do to the local people? Even if we do these things, we can’t just put the people in harm’s way for this.”

Lin Fan gave a simple nod before saying, “The local products have nothing to do with their survival. It won’t be a problem to survive since they live in an abundant area where food and water is readily available. It’s just that their excess income would be cut off a bit, but it isn’t as if it would kill them.”

Haku was surprised to hear this before taking the report for herself to read over.

When she was done, there was a strange look that was on her face as she looked back at Lin Fan.

The gist of that look was…

“How did I miss this?”

That was because what Lin Fan had said was completely accurate, so she couldn’t help feeling that it was strange that she had missed something that was this obvious.

He was right about how there was more to gain from this since those local products generated quite a bit of revenue for the Kalos Empire’s southern region. If they were crippled, then there was no doubt that the southern region would suffer some economic damage and harm the Kalos Empire overall.

The thing was that the southern region was a region that was very prosperous in the first place because of the environment that it had.

It was a place where the citizens would never have to worry about food in the first place.

So it wasn’t as if the citizens would actually suffer because of this, so it wouldn’t cross her bottom line.

Once she came back from her surprise, Haku started glaring at Lin Fan as if she wasn’t happy to see the look that was on his face.

But that didn’t mean that she was too prideful to not accept this suggestion.

Turning to Agnus, she said, “Make a note of this and send it off.”

Then in a softer voice that Lin Fan could still hear, “Make sure to punish Hugo for this. I can’t believe that he would miss something like this.”

Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling a bit sorry for whoever Hugo was since he didn’t intend to get anyone in trouble, but still this was just the beginning. So the only thing that he could do was apologize to the people that were about to get in trouble because of him.

After Haku was done talking to Agnus, Lin Fan slowly said, “There are a few more things that I have to point out.”

There was a deep frown that appeared on Haku’s face when she heard this, but it wasn’t as if she was going to stop him from speaking. It was just that she wasn’t happy that Lin Fan had been able to find all of these things that she had missed.

At the same time, she also seemed like she was ready to point out any mistakes that he made.

But in the end, there was an ugly look that remained on Haku’s face.

All of the suggestions that Lin Fan gave were solid suggestions and things that had been missed previously just like the matter with the southern region.

It really looked like Haku wanted to do something bad to Lin Fan by the end of it, but that wasn’t just because she had been shown up. Rather, it was more because of the look of amazement that was on Rokuko’s face as she looked at Lin Fan.

The fact that Rokuko looked at him like this instead of her was eating her up from the inside.

But there was nothing that she could do about it…

Once Lin Fan was done pointing out everything, there was actually something else that he had to discuss with Haku.

“You said that there was no way back, right?”

As soon as Haku heard this, the ugly look on her face disappeared and was replaced with a smile as she said, “The method takes quite a bit of DP and mana in the first place, so it isn’t something that can be done that easily. It’s hard to send you back now that we’ve brought you here.”

She said this as if it wasn’t her problem at all, but it was clear that she was enjoying this.

Only Lin Fan didn’t seem to mind even if Rokuko seemed very disturbed by this.

Instead, Lin Fan just said, “You’ve benefited quite a bit from my plan and since we can’t leave, I think it’s only right that we receive some kind of compensation, don’t you think?”

Haku narrowed her eyes when she heard this before slowly saying, “Compensation, what kind of compensation do you want?”

There was even a trace of a threat in her voice, but that stopped when Rokuko glared at her.

“Land.”

That was the only word that Lin Fan said.
